  • Sports & More Sports

Mark Husen from Bellin Sports Medicine is in the studio this morning, and he takes time to promote all of the local teams going to state this week—the memories for the teams, kids, and families. Food becomes part of the conversation, as usual. Mark shares stories about his Italian family, and Maino whines about boiled dinner (cabbage, potatoes, carrots, and turnips). Maino asks Jim what the first thing he grabs on the Thanksgiving table is. Jim's response: "The outside fork." Maino said, "Sweet potatoes." Then Bryan Milz and Tim Marquart, along with the Green Bay Officials Association, are in to promote the need for more officials for school sports. Besides the need for younger people to get involved, there is a real need for women officials! Ladies, check this out!!!

It's Friday, or, as we say, Friyay! Nick Slupski from The Dog House joins B.S. for a bit, and the conversation rolls through odd foods: tongue, heart, liver, and ox tail. We also learn that Jim thought booyah and gumbo were the same thing. (They are not!) Then Lisa Hale, host of NEWisco Weekend, joined the gang to preview what the NEWisco team has in store for the show this weekend.

  • Coffee & Vinyl

The hour begins with yummy holiday treats from Caribou Coffee! Lindsay Bosely joined on the phone, but she was lovely enough to send in some great drinks and treats. From breakfast sandwiches to muffins, they spoiled us this morning! With locations in Green Bay, Appleton, and Fond du Lac, they even have holiday gift ideas! Then, it's "Trucker Thursday," and our friend Todd Magnuson from Rock n' Roll Land in Green Bay swings in with some excellent trucker song albums! The joy of vinyl continues with younger generations, and it's always fun to talk about music with Todd. Black Friday is coming up, so if you need gift ideas for the holidays.

  • He’s Baaaaaaack!

Maino is back from deer camp in the U.P. he brings photos!

While he enjoyed his time in the woods at deer camp, he loved being back with an open mic. The show goes off the rails when Maino talks about the first time he drove by himself once he got his license. He went to the drive-in, but no girl would go with him...so he went alone. He also admits to purchasing an album from "Bread." Then, the tangent rolls into food: pumpkin pie, kringle, butcher shops, and hotel room service. We end the hour with Maino singing "Happy Birthday" for Sharon!

  • Simple Life & Jolly Good

So happy to have Michael Friedman on the show from Simple Life Hospitality. Not only because he brought us pumpkin pie AND a whole case of coffee, but he also shared more details on renting your home out for the 2025 Draft, or renting a home for the Draft or for any reason. Simple Life even has gift certificates for the holiday season. They truly think of everything! Then, Civic Media's Teri Barr joins with another "Slice of Wisconsin" and focuses on the wonders of Jolly Good soda!

  • Humpday Meanderings

We started the morning by discussing last night's UWGB men's basketball game. The guys won, but Jim was unhappy about the conversations around him during the game. How do you feel about that? Is talking about movies or personal things at a sporting event ok? Today is Peanut Butter Fudge Day and American Teachers Day. We find out that Jim's grandkids call him "Grumpy." Nikki, Todd, and listeners LOVE it. (We're not sure that Jim is in love with it.)

  • Turning The Page & Laughter

Douglas Darby & Jacob Jansen from Turning the Page are back with the show. The organization was created to bring different educational programs into the communities through connection, speaking and media resources in which we focus on mental health, substance use disorders, connections, behavioral change and hope. We love sharing their story and believe in the work they are doing. Then comedian Kristin Lytie brings a few smiles while promoting her show coming up this Sunday at GBUFO Gift Shop & Record Store.
