  • Museums for All, Holiday Shows, and a Cat Named Kuwait

    Joining the guys from the Mulva Center for the Arts is Katy Compton to talk about the brand new Museum for All program that began on November 1st with other areas museum adopting the program. Anyone who is on SNAP, WIC or Badgercare health card and you'll receive reduced admission to the museums. Museums want everybody to come and enjoy the things that are brought in as these programs and exhibits are created for the community.

    Jason Mansmith joins in and tells us all about the events coming up for the holidays at the Thrasher Opera House! And then the conversation takes a turn as we learn Jim not only had a cat named Kuwait (yes after the war) and it died in the most remarkable way. Find out.

The discussion turns to the Green Lake man who staged his death and left the country. Both Jim and John admit they've thought about doing something like that. He was running the business out of the second floor of his home but recently found a brick-and-mortar location. His passion is helping musicians and singers create their best music. Then we talk ice cream with Shannon Simon from Cedar Crest Ice Cream. The company puts on a yearly contest for Wisconsin 4-H clubs to create new flavors of the yummy dessert. Jim and John are trying to come up with a few ideas for ice cream from which they could profit.

    Cari Josephson with The Walk to End Alzheimer's joins the guys to talk about an event they have coming up on November 15th. Nearly 7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's and over 11 million Americans provide unpaid care for people with Alzheimer’s or other dementias? The UWGB Volleyball Team is spreading awareness about Alzheimer's, a disease that is the 6th leading cause of death in Wisconsin, by hosting the 5th Annual Attacking Alz Volleyball Game.     The guys start the morning by complaining about being sick. At a radio station, the sickness keeps swirling around. They also talk about quick ways to save money, and then "trading books" join the list of morning topics. Somehow, the conversation turns to the old Columbia House album program where you could get 12 records for a penny. Maino also talks about Saturday night's event at the Northland Hotel in Green Bay. The hotel celebrated its 100th anniversary. Get this. Somehow, he remembers being at the hotel 50 years ago, in 1974, for an autograph session with the Packers and the Bears.

They have an event on Tuesday to raise awareness of the need for family housing in the area and raise money to help fund these homes and services.
