  • Maria & Maino & The Mayor

Maria Parmigiani from Action 2 News is our guest this hour. Todd's very excited she noticed he's lost weight. Unfortunately for Jim and John, she didn't notice their weight loss. A part of me feels bad, the other part is smiling. Maria also talks about the work she does with WBAY-TV which includes traffic reports in the morning, and the importance of those reports, even in our smaller cities.

  • Service & Patriotism

Tim Cody joins from the Fox Valley Veterans Council and talks about their services to our local servicemen and women. The Council is also putting on a Veterans Day Event. Tim says one of the most significant issues for Veterans in the Fox Valley is homelessness. Veterans are getting priced out of their homes and apartments. But Tim also says that the Fox Valley is a wonderful community that is always willing to step up and help. If you know a veteran who could use a little assistance, reach out to Tim and the crew at the Council.

  • Today IS Election Day!

If you haven't already, make sure to GET OUT AND VOTE! The show starts with the guys admitting they may have an addiction to betting. (I'm pretty sure we all knew that.) Then Maino discusses some issues he's had with lousy service from several companies. We won't get into it here, but we're happy he censored himself by saying "bleep" instead of the words he wanted to say. Todd plays a little James Brown, which makes Maino reminisce about polyester pants. Then we played a round of Election Trivia, and Jim did so well that he helped Bryan and Paul win a Maino & The Mayor prize pack!

  • Football & Service

ESPN's Rob Demovsky joins the show to talk about the dismal game. Jim, John, and Rob all agree that the days of "playing at Lambeau in bad weather" just don't matter anymore. Home-field advantage probably doesn't matter, either. Rob doesn't agree with our listeners that Willis should have replaced Love in the game. He thinks Jordan needed to play injured to learn more about himself as a player. Then Susan Foch and Casey Nelson join us from Operation Not Alone. The mission of Operation Not Alone is to honor and support active duty service members and veterans while connecting our communities to those in uniform. They have an event in Oshkosh this Saturday and you can get details on this gala via their website.

  • Health & Heritage Hill

The hour starts off with Dr. Erin Stevens with Prevea Health. Her story goes well beyond her work in Northeast Wisconsin, she's very involved with a program to help doctors and surgeons in Bolivia. She works with a program called Solidarity Bridge. The work in partnership with the medical communities of Bolivia and Paraguay to increase access to safe, essential, and timely surgical care. A great story! Then Elizabeth Jolly-Haslitt is in the studio from Heritage. Hill. They have an event coming up on November 9th for Veterans Day. You can join them at Fort Howard to learn about the lives of soldiers and their families in the 1830s. Do some hands-on history as you march and drill, compare past military life with today, and write letters to modern-day servicemembers.

  • Monday Morning Meanderings

We start the day off bewildered at some of the coaching decisions in yesterday's Packer game. Some of the questions our listeners were asking: Why did Love stay in the game? Why wasn't Willis put in for the second half? The guys also talk about their weekends, and about the importance of getting out and voting.

  • Weekly Best of Maino and the Mayor for Nov 2

We do our Halloween Special from our Oshkosh Studios! However, somehow, Jim and John overshoot Oshkosh and end up overshooting the city and, get this, overshoot Fond du Lac! They had to spin around and go 89 miles an hour down 41 to get back to 601 South Main in Oshkosh. They spend the first hour in our WISS studios blaming everyone but themselves for being 10 minutes late to the studio. This show is definitely "Grumpy Old Men on The Radio".

  • Bellin & Blues & Brews & BBQs

We call him the third member of Maino & The Mayor; Shawn Katzbeck, Marinette's marketing and tourism director, is in the house to remind us of their Blues, Brews & BBQ event tomorrow. Besides coming in to give Jim and John some crap for overshooting Oshkosh on their drive to the WISS studio yesterday, he also brings along tomorrow's headliner Toronzo Cannon! Toronzo was a Chicago city bus driver before he followed his love for the blues, and we're sure glad he made the switch. Joe Moss and Toronzo are on the stage tomorrow. Great music, great food, and great brews, too. Then, it's Friday, which means it's Football Friday, sponsored by Burkel's One Block Over!
