Theme for the this year’s fire safety week:- Working Smoke Alarms Save Lives – Have you a plan if yours goes off!
You could have less than two minutes to get out safely, once your smoke alarms sound. Smoke alarms need to be in every bedroom, outside of the sleeping areas, and on each level of your home.
Knowing two ways out of every room is an important piece of your home fire escape plan. One of the best things you can do for yourself and your family is to rehearse what to do in the event of an emergency, such as a house fire.
Have an outside meeting place, that is a safe distance from your home, where everyone should meet. For valuable fire safety information, and activities for the family, visit https://www.nfpa.org/FPW.
