Leo Varadkar served as Taoiseach of Ireland (prime minister) from 2017 to 2020 and again from 2022 to 2024. He was Ireland’s youngest ever Taoiseach in 2017, and the first openly gay person and first person of colour to hold the office. He resigned in 2024 and stepped away from electoral politics. His new memoir, Speaking My Mind, is out now.
