After Island Ock gets his flowers I dive into the top 3 thing I've learned so far about Andrew Carnegie's life. He went from being a poor kid in Scotland to becoming the richest man in the world in the span of 30 years.

In this episode we dive into his childhood, relationship with Charles Schwab and how the importance of honoring someone's name closed him the biggest deal of his life.

This weeks episode of Make It To Midnight we learn more about the man who Down Syndrome was named after and how he changed the way people view disabilities.

He took the leap in the 1800s to accept and build relationships with people who had disabilities while everyone else was trying to hide them for the world.

His approach was similar to Patch Adams, the famous doctor who opened a free health care center revolved around treating the person rather than the disease. These stories always catch my attention because it's an individual who went against the status quo, believed in himself, and changed world because of it.

In this episode of Make It To Midnight we dive into the story of WWII hero Nicholas Winston.

I was on the plane to Oregon a few weeks ago and scrolled through the movie list until I found one that caught my eye. Sir Anthony Hopkins was staring into the distance with a look of wonder in his eyes.

I wasn't prepared for the 120 minute emotional rollercoaster I was about to get on but it was worth every second. Nicolas Winston was a banker in Great Britain about to go on vacation but then received a phone call from a friend in Prague that would change his life and 660 little boys and girls lives. Winston's team of 4 saved entire bloodlines from Hitler.

This is a story of bravery, courage, compassion, and grit. The 1930s and 40s were dark times but so many people rose to the occasion and did things that changed the world forever. Thanks for listening and let me know if there are other stories I should dive into.

I recently read the story about the hero of the Washington Post, Katharine Graham. She is one of the most resilient business leaders in American history and is the reason the Pentagon Papers were released.

However her journey to the top of the business world was a long, treacherous one that should be admired and praised by the masses.

Her secret? Keep your ego in check and never put yourself over the product.

Katharine Graham's story has inspired me and I hope this short version of it can inspire you too. I highly recommend checking out the Amazon Prime documentary about her and listening to what Warren Buffet has to say about the icon.
