“Finding clarity is eliminating options and aligning with your own True North.” — Tiffany Neuman
We all know about or have at least heard of the 5 W’s of a story or the writing process, right? I bet we can all repeat them together, let’s try it. Ready? Go!
Who, What, When, Where, Why, and sometimes How.
These are the essential questions that we’re all taught to employ when trying to outline a story that you’re setting out to write or to understand a story that you’re reading or studying.
Similar to the 5 W’s, I have my own set of questions to ask when it comes to gaining clarity in your brand and business.
So many of my clients come to me in a brand fog, and they’re seeking brand clarity. Some of my clients come to me thinking they have brand clarity, but then move through my process and realize they need to pivot!
In today’s episode of The Legacy Lounge Podcast, I am introducing you to what I mean when I say brand clarity and…
If you’re totally excited about doing the deep work it takes to gain clarity in your brand and business, I want to extend the invitation to you to attend my Brand Clarity Workshop on September 14 or 16!
I only host this workshop a few times a year for business owners and entrepreneurs who are tired of not knowing why their growth is stalled or are lost in the sea of advice from fellow entrepreneurs and online marketing gurus.

“My big mission in my business is empowering women to create wealth and opportunities for themselves and the people around them.” — Jessica Fearnley
Don’t you wish you could just talk to an expert who knows exactly how to take business from the six – figure level to the seven – figure level? (And someone who does it ethically too?)
What about an expert who can teach you exactly how to work less while earning more?
Is this all just sounding impossible? Are you asking yourself, “How does anyone even do that?” Or maybe you’re thinking, “Yeah right, no one really can run a seven – figure business that way, they just say that they do.”
Well, my friend, today on the podcast I invited my new friend and fellow burnout survivor Jessica Fearnley to the show to talk with me all about slowing down to speed up. I can confidently tell you that there is a perfectly ethical and accessible way to work less while earning more on your way to your seven-figure business…and our friend Jessica has all of the incredible knowledge and resources to share with us on how to do exactly that!
Jessica is a business coach who helps six – figure B2B consultant women get to seven figures on their terms by working less and earning more. She’s received the honor of being one of LinkedIn’s top voices, among many other impressive accolades, and is the host of the Seven Figure Consultant podcast.
When it comes to up-leveling in your business, Jessica truly is an expert. And in our 30 – minute conversation, we covered a lot of ground:
After listening to this episode, I hope that you will be inspired to strategize in your own business to discover how you can slow down to speed up!
And here’s another little light that I hope you’ll let me share with you today: Turn Uncertainty Into Opportunity, a brand new guide that I was called to create just for you to help you thrive during these times!

In this guide I share the 6 shifts that entrepreneurs need to make now to thrive, not just survive.
It’s totally free because I believe the information inside will truly help you thrive. And when we all are thriving and living our best lives (even in through uncertain times), we create the world we dream about together.

Favorite quotes from this episode:
“There tends to be a pattern with burnout. If you’ve experienced it once, you can go through it actually multiple times, and if you don’t get self aware enough to spot that it’s coming, it can just be something that actually your business can exacerbate.” — Jessica Fearnley
“It shouldn’t be like this. We shouldn’t be forcing ourselves through. We shouldn’t be wishing that calls will get canceled. It’s these little things that they can creep up on you.” — JF
“It matters how I feel.” — JF
“It’s not about building, because when you’re in the early stages of business, or even at six figures, it can feel like, “oh, my gosh, to get to seven figures, I need 1000 clients.” Who’s got time for that? That’s the problem. The model doesn’t work because we’re not actually pitching ourselves high enough.” — JF
“My big mission in my business is empowering women to create wealth and opportunities for themselves and the people around them.” — JF
“If you do the things that it takes to get to six figures and then try and do more of them to get to seven figures, it just does not work.” — JF
“The whole point of growing a business should be that it actually creates more profit.” — JF

“Slow down and enjoy life. It’s not only the scenery you miss by going too fast, you also miss the sense of where you are going and why.” — Tiffany Neuman
For many of us, modern life involves a ton of rushing and never feeling like we’ve got enough time to check off everything on our never ending list of things to do.
Ironically, inventions like the microwave, email, and phones, cars, planes, and trains were all intended to make life easier and more convenient.
In fact, I remember watching a documentary from the 1950s that made some pretty bold predictions about the time we’re living in now. It said that we would be surrounded by so many robots and machines to help us with the daily tasks of life, that we would be able to spend most of our time dedicated to creative pursuits and enjoy our hobbies.
Well, we are definitely surrounded by incredible technology but unfortunately it’s only allowed us to move at an even faster pace and to “get more done” in a day than ever before. A fact that contributes to our ever growing lists and insatiable need to plan and look ahead to make sure we’re not missing the next thing.
Think about it: it takes virtually no time to communicate with someone who lives on the other side of the world. You used to have to send a letter that would travel by train and boat to reach its destination, a process that would take weeks to complete. Now? All you have to do is type a note into your computer and hit that “send” button and your message will be received by the other person within minutes.
It’s incredible and almost inconceivable if you think about it too hard. And it’s fast.
This type of fast and easy access to everything in our lives contributes to the rapid pace of our lifestyle today. It makes it easier to think ahead and plan for the future, faster than ever before.
However, there’s something that I want to remind us all of in today’s episode. It’s something that mystics and philosophers throughout history, for thousands of years, have known: you are only ever here, now and in the present.
In my personal experience, I found that always looking ahead and trying to live life like it’s a race is not only unsustainable, it’s not enjoyable. And what’s the point in living if you’re not enjoying your time here?
Today I want to guide you through a visualization that will help you:
Here’s a bonus tip that is the ultimate in slowing down to take stock of the present moment in your business — join my signature done – with – you program, Legacy Brand Foundations. This is a transformational course for mission – driven, heart – centered entrepreneurs who are ready to up level in their business.

“Slow down and enjoy life. It’s not only the scenery you miss by going too fast, you also miss the sense of where you are going and why.” — Tiffany Neuman
It seems like in order to get ahead, you have to move faster than everybody else. Like business success is at the finish line of a 100 meter sprint, and it’s you against your competitors.
Many entrepreneurs and business owners are so invested in this idea that they are actually afraid to slow down. Because if they ease up on the gas, they’re going to lose progress…or worse, money.
I’m here today with an episode to flip that idea on its head and to tell you that by moving too fast, you’re actually damaging your business and brand in both the short and long terms.
I know, I know. Taking a slower, more thoughtful approach doesn’t always seem exciting. Can’t you just subscribe to one of those “Roadmap to Seven Figures” or “How To Sign 10,000 Clients Overnight” courses and get there faster?
Theoretically, you could do that. In actuality, that option likely won’t deliver what it promises and if it does you’ll find yourself drowning in work without any reliable strategy to help you wade through it.
So what’s the solution? Listen to today’s episode of The Legacy Lounge where I’m laying out the three ways you’re damaging your brand and business by moving too fast, and…
Here’s my actual best tip for building a blueprint for your brand — join my signature done – with – you program, Legacy Brand Foundations. This is a transformational course for mission – driven, heart – centered entrepreneurs who are ready to up level in their business.

I don’t know about you but when it feels like a shit show in the world, I get more fired up to make a bigger impact.
And I truly believe it is the entrepreneurs in the world who are up for this challenge.
Sure, there are some days when I feel sad and overwhelmed by all of the things that have gone wrong and everything that needs to be made right. But I always return to center and the things that I know to be true.
And for me, as an eternal optimist, I believe that things only get worse so that they can get better on the other end!
One of those things that I have gone on my own personal journey to learn about is Slowing Down To Speed Up, which is what I’m talking all about on the podcast this month!
If you’re an entrepreneur or small business owner, you have likely been sucked into the “hustle culture” of it all at some point or another. I know I was for years.
But my friends, I’m here to tell you today that this is no way to live. Hustling will only get you so far, and I’d go as far to say that the hustle culture sets up a dangerous internal belief system that teaches you that worth and success are tied to how hard a person works.
Recently, I’ve felt the industry awakening from this idea of hustle culture. We’re slowly but surely emerging into a greater truth and understanding of what freedom can mean in our businesses and, ultimately, in our lives.
In today’s episode, I’m getting personal so that we can break down and understand this shift in our industry, and I’m also sharing:

In this series on Values we’ve done a lot of work to define what is actually important to us in our life and in our business, but what happens if you’re just not quite feeling in alignment with those Values yet?
It’s fairly common to feel a disconnect between our values and how we’re living your everyday life.
Maybe you value your health, but you find it hard to get off the couch to go outside for a walk?
Maybe you value honesty, but you tell the occasional white lie.
Maybe discipline is important to you, but you’ve been finding yourself procrastinating.
You get the idea…
It’s important to acknowledge that if you’re not living in alignment with your stated values, then they’re simply not your values…yet. They’re aspirations…good intentions…a good first step toward living the life you dream about.
But you may not be there quite yet. And that’s okay!
But here’s the bottom line: Aspirational values are good, but actionable values are better.
I want us all to get to a place where we are consistently living in accordance with and taking actions that are in line with our values.
That’s why in today’s episode of The Legacy Lounge podcast I’m walking you through a visualization exercise that will:
I recommend that you listen to this exercise once per day for at least one week to really get the benefits of taking action on your values! After taking the time to do that, I hope that you will be inspired to integrate those Values we’ve been working on and maybe even some new ones into your everyday life!
And if you feel like you need a little more support in building your brand foundations and establishing clear values, the early bird application is open for my next cohort of the Legacy Brand Foundations program — we start in September and I’d love to have you there.

“If your values aren't helping you make a decision, they probably haven't been refined enough.” — Karen Segeant
Decision fatigue is real, and here’s why:
The average adult makes 35,000 decisions every day.
Now, factor in the life and daily choices presented to an entrepreneur or business leader. I'm sure that the average soars upward by the thousands.
And if we’re making 35,000 decisions everyday, that means we’re presented with at least 70,000 choices.
Woah, that’s a lot. Some might even say overwhelming.
That’s true, but…what if there was a way to make more decisions with ease and certainty? The kind of decision making power that leads your life and business to new heights and opportunities? The kind of choice elimination that zeroes in on the big dreams and visions you have for your future?
My friend and client, Karen Sergeant recently sat down in The (virtual) Legacy Lounge with me to talk all about how clearly defined business values can make a huge impact on our decision making abilities and the trajectory of our business growth.
Karen is a Team Growth Strategist and COO who helps business owners survive their growth spurts, grow their teams, and cultivate a strong culture based on consent and accountability.
For 25 years, she jas guided teams through high stakes, high uncertainty situations, from counterterrorism operations in Afghanistan to software project management at the dawn of the Internet boom. And, as a COO, she's helped clients achieve seven figure launches, roll out new product lines, architect full team reorgs, and build strong equity centered business practices.
When it comes to making decisions in business, Karen is an expert. And in our 20 - minute conversation, we covered a lot of ground:
After listening to this episode, I hope that you will be inspired to live out your values in your life and business!
And if you feel like you need a little more support in building your brand foundations and establishing clear values, the early bird application is open for my next cohort of the Legacy Brand Foundations program — we start in September and I’d love to have you there.

Are you ready to create some values that feel truly aligned and congruent with your business and lifestyle? Values that will actually attract the perfect clients that you can’t wait to work with and that are craving to work with you?
I hope so, because in today’s episode of The Legacy Lounge Podcast I’m walking you through my tried and true process to create your very own, totally unique and personalized value statement that you’ll end up hanging on your wall.
(No, really. Printing out your value statement and placing it somewhere visible is a real step in this process.)
I know that value work is not as exciting as other branding processes, BUT it is some of the most important work that you can ever do for your brand and for yourself.
Trust me on this. There’s data to back me up (I lay it all out for you in the episode), and even a few personal anecdotes!
So, I want you to take out a pen and paper and get ready to work. This is not the episode where you can passively listen and learn. This is an episode where we are implementing so that you can experience growth and change in your business faster than you ever thought possible.
And not fast in a chaotic way, fast in a you’re - in-a-flow kind of way.
Sound good? Here’s what we’re covering today:
My biggest and brand - nerdiest hope after you listen to this episode is that you’ll share your value statement with me!

“You deserve to live the life you love, not what you think you should be doing or what everyone else is doing.”
We’re getting a little bit personal on the podcast today.
Why? Because this month we’re focusing on VALUES, and your core values not only guide your business, but they guide your entire life.
But don’t get the wrong idea, what we’re NOT doing this month is creating corporate - sounding value statements that, at the end of the day, are meaningless.
No, in this month’s series, we’re focusing on uncovering the values that have a real impact in your life. The values that give you clarity on your life and will help inform every decision that you make.
Now you might be thinking that you already have your values locked down. Or maybe you just think values are boring, and that you’re looking for branding advice that will really make an impact on your business.
I hear you. But I want you to know that if you do take the time with me to work on the idea of values from a Legacy BrandTM perspective, things will start happening for you. Good things, Beautiful things. Your life and business will expand.
Let me just be totally honest. In my experience with Fortune 500 brands and top entrepreneurs I’ve found that if a brand’s values aren’t in conscious alignment then none of the other marketing tactics that are being put to use will work for the brand and business. They just won’t.
I've seen more times than I can count. Business owners try every marketing trend — pinterest, reels, LinkedIn, Facebook Ads, a new website….you know what I mean — and they just don’t work. But when they finally come back to do this foundational work on their values, they gain the clarity and confidence that they need to go back out into the world. And when they try all of those same marketing tactics? Finally, and amazingly, they work like a miracle.
And it all starts with your values.
That’s why in today’s episode of The Legacy Lounge Podcast, I’m asking you to go on a personal journey. Don’t worry I’ll be there to guide you. Here’s what we’ll touch on this week:

"To free the voice is to free the person." — Kristen Linklater
Do you need a more powerful voice? Do you want other people to hear you properly and take you seriously when you speak? In episodes 12 and 13 of The Legacy Lounge, we took an in-depth look at what it takes to develop a more powerful Legacy Brand Voice in the context of language, positioning, differentiation, and more.
But what about your actual voice?
How do you feel when you listen to your own voice on a recording? And more importantly, how do others react to your voice?
Some people can’t stand to listen to recordings of themselves. I know I used to be that way. (And still am, if I’m being honest. I’m not sure that part will ever completely go away.)
But I want you to know that your voice is a wonderful instrument that you were born with. It’s a gift that helps us communicate with the world around us. How amazing is that?
But just like any other instrument, just because you have one doesn’t mean you always know how to play it optimally.
Today, I want to help you develop a more powerful, rich, and resonate voice through an audio session that I have created just for this purpose.
This is something that I wish I would have had access to back in the day. It would have been a game changer for all of my Facebook Lives and course recordings. I could have come across as more in command with a powerful voice that confidently communicates what I needed it to.
No, having a powerful voice doesn’t mean that you need to be overly loud, or strain to be heard. In fact, it is quite the opposite.
In order to start playing your instrument (your voice) to its full capacity, the first thing you need to do is relax and get grounded.
I want your real voice to have power and support so that you can confidently and proudly send your voice forward so that others can truly receive your message exactly as it was intended.
Let me lead you through an exercise today that will help you:
I hope you’ll set aside 20 minutes today to work on grounding and freeing your voice in this episode of The Legacy Lounge podcast! It feels amazing when you do.
