  • The 7 Elements of a Legacy Brand Voice

"It only takes one voice at the right pitch to start an avalanche."—Deanna Hardy

Have you ever wondered what truly makes a brand stand out among the rest?

Well, if you’ve tuned in to episode 12, you know that your brand voice can help you do just that. Perhaps you’ve even started the process of building or refining your own brand voice?

Let’s take that a step further today by diving into what I’ve identified as The 7 Elements of a Legacy Brand Voice.

When you can refine and combine these elements, your brand voice will become unstoppable. You’ll be able to call in your ideal audience in the way that they resonate with and in a way that feels authentic (and exciting!) to you.

    Here are the seven elements:

    1. Purpose
    2. Character
    3. Differentiation
    4. Audience
    5. Emotion
    6. Tone
    7. Language
    8. Each of these elements represents an opportunity for you to elevate your entire brand, and especially your brand voice, to help you be seen as a leader in your niche and industry.

And in today’s episode of The Legacy Lounge Podcast, we are diving deeply into each of these elements and:

      • The key element that I require all of my clients to address before moving forward with their brand voice.
      • My tried and true 7 Elements of a Legacy Brand Voice that will help your business disrupt your industry
      • The #1 mistake people make when they’re trying to differentiate themselves and their businesses
      • Specific questions that will help you discover your brand voice’s character and your brand personality.
      • The real secret to building an engaged audience with your brand voice.
      • Why your brand needs a catchy and memorable tagline in order to create connection with your community.
      • How to craft great CTAs that inspire action
      • …so much more!
      • Make sure you have pen and paper for this one, and tune in to learn about how to set yourself apart now! And remember to tune in to the next episode where I will lead you through a visualization on embodying your own voice to really make sure we integrate all of this work we’ve been doing!

      • Voice The Most Important Element of Your Brand

“The voice is the muscle of the soul.” — Alfred Wolfsohn

One of the first and most influential things you notice about someone is their voice and how they use it to express themselves: their accent, mannerisms, gestures, phrases, cadence, and tone.

Our subconscious makes assumptions about these various pieces of information in seconds and whether we like it or not these assumptions tend to stick with us.

You might be asking yourself, “Okay, but WHAT in the world does this have to do with branding, Tiffany?”

        Kind of everything, actually.

If you’re on a mission to create an authentic Legacy Brand that connects deeply and meaningfully with your audience, then you need a fantastic, reliable, totally unique-to-you brand voice!

Now I’m sure you’re thinking, “But, can’t I just speak in my business the way I speak in real life?”

Of course you can. All I want to do is help you further define your Brand Voice, which is all about finding that sweet spot between how you speak in your everyday life, and how you want to show up for your clients and audience.

Developing a brand voice will never take away from your originality! In fact, it will only enhance it.

And the truth is, you have a brand voice whether you’re using it or not. So, why don’t you start refining and using it so that you can truly stand out among the crowd?

Top thought leaders and even the entertainers you admire have honed their own brand voice—and whether you are aware of it or not, that’s the main reason why we love them. They’ve done the work to look inward to draw out their brand voice and use it consistently!

And in today’s episode of The Legacy Lounge Podcast, we are diving into how you can develop your brand voice too! Here’s what I’m covering today—all within the span of 25 minutes:

        • My tried and true 5 Steps to Define Your Brand Voice
        • The actual definition of brand voice
        • What it takes to create an outstanding brand voice.
        • Why brand voice can help you stand out and save you time
        • How brand voice can help you increase your sales and engagement
        • The number one mistake entrepreneurs make when it comes to their brand voice, and how to avoid it!
        • The important step that I insist everyone take when creating their Legacy Brand
        • …and some controversial opinions from yours truly (don’t worry they’re all related to branding!)
        • Get out your pen and paper—this is one where you’re going to want to take notes—and tune in to learn about how to start defining (or refining) your brand voice now! And remember to tune in to the next episode where I will walk you through the Seven Elements of the Legacy Brand voice to help you truly fine tune your brand voice!

          — Tarzan Kay, Legacy Leader and E- mail Marketing Expert

What do we mean when we talk about your “voice”? Is it different from your “brand voice”? How do you find it? Most importantly, how can you use it in an ethical, authentic, and totally true - to - you way?

Luckily for us, Legacy Leader Tarzan Kay joined me in The Legacy Lounge to help answer all of these questions and more.

Tarzan and I go all the way back to 2016, when we were both just starting our businesses and in the same mastermind. Over six years, we have both experienced incredible growth and change in how we operate our business and how we use our voices to share our message with our audiences.

It’s been so cool to witness Tarzan’s evolution — she has quite a story to share.

Tarzan is an e - mail marketing expert and copywriting queen who is finding new ways of marketing that serve the many instead of just the few. Ways that don’t leverage nail biting, FOMO, and made-up scarcity but instead allow for the possibility of joy, true connection and radical honesty.

She’s done the work of finding her true voice for herself and her business, and she’s ready to help us do the same…and share tons of great advice on how to implement the most current and best e - mail marketing practices in your business.

We cover a lot of ground in this 30 - minute conversation, including:

          • How your e - mail and content copy can change lives
          • How to be more conscious and avoid harmful tactics in your e - mail marketing and launch strategies
          • Tarzan’s weekly e - mail copywriting process
          • Why your e - mail list will make you more money than your social media followers any day of the week
          • The difference between copywriting for e - mail marketing and social media marketing
          • The benefits of a small subscriber list
          • Why it’s critical that you actively and consistently nurture your subscriber list
          • What to do if you’ve ghosted your e - mail subscribers
          • ….and more!

          • If you’re ready to find your authentic voice and take action in the e - mail marketing and copywriting areas of your business, I invite you to block out 30 minutes to sit down with Tarzan and me in The Legacy Lounge to talk about all things voice and conscious messaging.

              • Visualization: Think BIG

How far can you go with your vision?

Well, as big as you can dream it!

From the Roman Empire which held sway over half of the world to the personal computer which some people thought was just a wild fantasy, some of the biggest accomplishments of humankind started from small beginnings with the potential to grow into more and become an incredible force in the world.

But someone has to see that potential and stick with it.

Eventually others will recognize that your vision has real momentum and drive, and they’ll start to gather around your idea with momentum and force to continue to drive it forward.

If your vision is a real service to humanity then it is a duty and a responsibility to think and act big.

Even if what you have to offer isn’t Nobel Peace Prize winning material, it is still beneficial to you to think on a larger scale when pursuing your dreams.

Consider this: we are living in a time where it is so easy to think BIG! These days, ideas spread around the world in MINUTES. A blogger from a small town in Norway can make a huge impact on someone living halfway around the world and in another hemisphere.

                I think that’s amazing.

And NOW is the time to think BIG. I know sometimes we let our limiting beliefs and distractions prevent us from doing just that.

That’s why in this episode of the Legacy Lounge I’m going to walk you through an incredible visualization that is designed to:
                • Relax your body and mind so that you can focus on your vision
                • Free you of your limiting beliefs and excuses
                • Lead you to think BIG about your vision and dreams for your life and business
                • Help you actually visualize and feel what it will be like once your vision becomes real
                • I hope you’ll set aside 20 minutes this week to join me in The Legacy Lounge! This is the episode that will take your dreams to the next level and encourage you to recommit to your vision!

                  Favorite quotes from this episode:

“Think of little goals and you can only ever expect little achievements.” — Tiffany Neuman

“If you have something to offer, you owe it to yourself to think about it in a larger and wider way. Why settle for anything less than the full potential of what you can do with your vision?” — TN

“The biggest thinkers encourage others to pursue their dreams and enact their plans for them. You won’t find Richard Branson behind the counter at every Virgin store.” — TN

                • Three Ways Your Vision Is Holding You Back (And How to Break Through The Blocks)

"Action without vision is only passing time. Vision without action is merely daydreaming, but vision with action can change the world."—Nelson Mandela

Creating your Legacy Vision is just the beginning of your journey. (And if you haven’t already done that, head on back to episode six to create it right now before diving into this episode!)

But what happens after you create your Legacy Vision? What do you actually do with it? How do you use it?

Well, this might sound paradoxical, but sometimes your vision can actually hold you back and stifle your business growth.

I know we’ve been talking all about vision in the last few episodes and how necessary it is to have one for your life and business. That still remains true. In order to get to where you want to go in your business and life, you have to have a clear and motivational vision of what that place looks like when you get there.

That’s the purpose of your Legacy Vision in your business and in your life: to give you direction and a sense of purpose.

However, in this episode, I want to make you aware of three major pitfalls that can slow down your progress and even keep you from making it to your destination at all. They are:

                  1. Your vision isn’t clear enough, and it’s creating chaos.

Yes, this happens to the best of us! I’m going to teach you how to identify the keys to a great Vision Statement that will keep your team, your clients, and yes, even yourself engaged and invested in your business and success for years to come!

                  2. You might have a Legacy Vision, but you’re not executing on it.

Uh oh, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I think it’s time for some tough love. In order to make your vision a reality, you have to take some action toward it. I cover this in depth in this episode.

                  3. Your vision is too big or too rigid.

I know, I know, I’m the one that told you to dream big! I stand behind that advice because I needed you to just get started! But sometimes going too big can be detrimental. I’ll tell you why in the episode. Likewise, holding too tightly to your original vision can create inflexibility in your business causing you to bypass incredible opportunities.

In addition to digging into all the ways your vision can actually be holding you back, here’s what you’re going to takeaway in this episode with me:

                  • Identify the research-backed elements of the most effective vision statements that propel Fortune 500 companies, your favorite thought leaders in the online business world, as well as the solopreneur next door.
                  • Learn the pivotal method that helps us to create vision statements that spark excitement in your team and your clients.
                  • How to use The Law of Attraction alongside your vision for the best results.
                  • How to avoid shiny object syndrome and stay laser focused on your vision
                  • How to not miss the amazing opportunities coming your way because you’re too attached to your original vision
                  • How to keep up with the pace of change while still remaining true to your vision
                  • I hope you’ll set aside 30 minutes this week to join me in The Legacy Lounge! This is the episode that will save you days, weeks, months, and years of time as you work toward your vision.

                    Favorite quotes from this episode:

“Two simple yet difficult to achieve elements must be present to create a successful vision statement: specificity and engagement. If it's too generic, it just becomes rhetoric, and if it's not something a team can embrace as their own, it becomes ignored.” — Tiffany Neuman

“What is the actual outcome and feeling that you want to achieve not only for yourself, but for your team and your clients? That's what you want to put into the vision statement.” — TN

“Clear intention in your vision is needed, of course, but what really brings the vision to reality is action.” — TN

                  • Legacy Leader on Vision Elizabeth Hartke of Luminary Leadership Co.

“Entrepreneurs think that if they shift their energy towards family, that it's all going to fall apart in their business. No, you're going to be aligned. Finally, it's going to feel right. You're going to get into a groove and things are going to start to come to life that you've never even had access to before.”

—Elizabeth Hartke, Legacy Leader and Founder of Luminary Leader Co.

Many entrepreneurs set their sights on building their dream business in the name of time and financial freedom. Oftentimes, they want to achieve these things in order to spend more time and energy on their loved ones.

I’d be willing to bet that this singular motivator is the fuel that drives a significant amount of entrepreneurial pursuits.

Elizabeth Hartke knows this is the case and she also knows that there is a better, more holistic way to pursue this entrepreneurial vision.

Elizabeth (aka Liz) is a friend, mentor, and client of mine and I am so thrilled that she joined me on this episode of The Legacy Lounge podcast to talk all about vision and leadership. I fell in love with her mission a year and a half when we worked together to co-create her Legacy Brand, Luminary Leadership! She brings a perspective that is completely unique and fresh to the entrepreneurial space, and I am so excited for you to meet her!

Liz comes from a long line of entrepreneurs and has more than 10 years of experience in building her own multi-million dollar business and mentoring thousands of others to do the same, all while growing her beautiful family of five. She knows the hardworking business and family lifestyle like no one else.

There is truly no one more deserving of respect and admiration when it comes to Liz’s vision for her own business and family.

Which is why it makes sense that she founded Luminary Leadership Co., a family-oriented business with a focus on helping entrepreneurs build leadership skills so that they can experience success in business and create a legacy at home.

That’s something most of us include in our vision for our lives, and Liz has the keys to help get us closer to achieving that vision.

In this episode, Liz and I sat down to talk all about Legacy, creating an integrated vision for your business and your family, and everything in between. Liz even lets us in on some information about the Rally Cry Call event, Bridging the Gap, that she has been cooking up for fellow entrepreneurs who feel called to operate their personal and professional lives in a more aligned way, but are unsure about how to do that.

                      Favorite quotes from this episode:

“Entrepreneurs think that if they shift their energy towards family, that it's all going to fall apart in their business. No, you're going to be aligned. Finally, it's going to feel right. You're going to get into a groove and things are going to start to come to life that you've never even had access to before.”—Elizabeth Hartke

“I think a lot of people have this vision of Legacy in their head that looks like them in their rocking chair on the front porch when they're 85, looking back on what they've created, instead of realizing that the only way to have the glory of sitting in that rocking chair and being proud of what you've created is determined by how you're living and what you're gifting to the people who matter most and the people you influence today.”—EH

“When you decide to step into leadership, there's a lot of selflessness and courageousness that comes from saying, ‘okay, I'm going to choose this path to lead, not just to manage, not just to create, but to ensure that other people are being raised up with me along the way.’”—EH

“The work that we did together through creating that Legacy Brand is something that has roots, something that can outlive me, something that can be sold (which is a smart way of thinking when you're in business) or something that someone else can take it and run with it.”—EH

“I think it's so necessary to create your brand as a living, breathing thing so that it has the opportunity to evolve and grow.”—EH

“We all have these visions of why we started in the first place. And then we put our heads down and we work and we tell ourselves "this is just a season...if I build it, they will come..I just have to keep going." And we're not looking up enough to have that vision, to see that if the journey, the getting there, steamrolls everyone and everything I love, including myself, was the juice really worth the squeeze?”—EH

“I want to teach entrepreneurs to leverage the power of small business and entrepreneurship to raise leaders of their own.”—EH

“There are all these tools and resources to support the entrepreneur in business. Of course there are plenty of resources to support the parent in parenthood. But there's nothing that speaks to the realities that are just different when you've chosen and said "yes" to running your own business that feeds your family. It's just a different life. It is. End of story. And it's not better. It's just different.”—EH

“The only thing worse than being blind is having sight with no vision.”

                      —Helen Keller

I have a brand new topic this month to cover with you. I have to admit, it is one of my absolute favorite ideas to talk about with anyone who will listen. (Good thing I have a podcast now, right?)

I also have to warn you that this singular thing is the secret to so many of my clients’ success—I’m talking 7-figure launches, sold-out offers, and miles-long waiting lists, not to mention building legacies that will make an impact for years to come.

                      Curious yet?

This week, and for the next month, we’re talking all about Vision, and more importantly we’re diving deeply into what a LEGACY VISION is.

Sure, as an entrepreneur you know how important it is to have a vision.

But what actually is a vision? And how is it different from a Legacy Vision?

And the most important question of all, how in the world do you create one for yourself and your business?

We dive into all of that and more in this week’s episode of The Legacy Lounge podcast!

                      And here’s what you’ll take away…with timestamps!:

                      • [01:40] Identify the difference between a vision and a Legacy Vision
                      • [03:38] Understand the three reasons why you need a vision for your business and your life
                      • [10:55] Tips and tricks on how to define your Legacy Vision
                      • [13:55] The exact guided steps to draft your Legacy Visions—and how I create MY OWN and achieve my Legacy Visions. (And here’s the place where you can pick back up if you paused to draft up your vision [20:49])
                      • Plus, inspiration sprinkled throughout the episode to take everything you’ve learned so that you can start creating your Legacy Vision now!
                      • I usually reserve these types of exercises and advice for my clients, but this podcast is a big part of my Legacy and I am so excited to see how this episode impacts how you show up in your life, business, and the world.

Together, we can make an impact and leave a Legacy that will shape the world.

He inspires the power and energy to get it done.”—Ralph Lauren

“You’ve got to give yourself the freedom to dream—to use your imagination to see and feel what does not yet exist. A vision is not the same as goals or objectives; those come from the head. A vision comes from the heart.”—John Graham

“As a leader, you are a beacon for others. A Legacy Vision allows you to step into the light and take a leadership role. To create the path towards a better future.”

“It’s not that we set our goals too high and miss them, it’s that we set our goals too low and hit them.”

“Abundance is directly tied to the value you provide and the difference you make in the world.”

                        —Tiffany Neuman

Stop what you’re doing! Hold the phone! You’re giving value away! Listen in now to this episode to learn how to claim your abundance and build your Legacy.

When I work with my clients, one of the first things we do together is to identify their personal and business values.

Why? Well, it relates to your Legacy of course!

If you can identify the values that are most important to live your life and run your business by, then you have a better chance at paving a clearer path toward your Legacy for yourself and your business.

The most common values that come up among my clients are FREEDOM and ABUNDANCE.

In this episode, we are focusing on abundance and how oftentimes, it is inextricably linked to your legacy.

Think about this: I’ve found in my work with my clients, and in my own business, that oftentimes the skills and characteristics that are valuable within us are our blindspots. They’re the things that we shrug off as easy. The things that we think come naturally to everyone else.

Well, I have a surprise for you! Those things that come naturally to you, definitely don’t come as naturally—if at all!—to others. Those traits, skills, characteristics, mindsets, you name it…are valuable and are linked to your potential to attract abundance.

For example, I’ve been almost five years since I left my corporate creative director position for my entrepreneurial journey, yet it wasn't until the past year or so until I fully owned the value of my own work. This is something that happens to all of us! I’ve been there.

I want you to know that your whole life and business will change once you you truly understand the value of the unique way you can serve people. And when you’re able to articulate it clearly? That’s the real magic. That is when you truly are able to create abundance financially, emotionally, with time and relationships, and really all areas of your life.

That’s pretty cool, right? I dig more into this idea in the podcast AND offer you an awesome exercise where I have you answer these five questions, not once but twice from two different view points:

                        1. What are you an expert at and what do you know more about than most people?
                        2. What are your skills and abilities? What do you do better than most people?
                        3. What have you accomplished up to this point that other people respect and admire you for?
                        4. What things do you currently have that other people would love to have?
                        5. What do you currently do for free that people would pay you for?
                        6. And here’s what you’ll take away from this episode:

                          • Understand how abundance impacts your Legacy
                          • Learn how to identify your unique skills and characteristics
                          • Create a vision for what skills you want to put forward in your business one year from now
                          • The one question that you should ask everyone you’ve ever worked with to help get you closer to your flow of abundance
                          • How to rise above the competition and stand out in the crowd…for real
                          • I usually reserve these types of exercises and advice for my clients, but this podcast is a big part of my Legacy and I am so excited to see how this episode impacts how you show up in your life, business, and the world.

Together, we can make an impact and leave a Legacy that will shape the world.

                            Favorite quotes from this episode:

“A person or business is powerfully positioned when they have a message that is clear to the value that they bring to their clients, and it's branded and marketed in a creative way. When that's the case, there is no competition.”

“True abundance comes when you stay in your lane, stop worrying about what everyone else is doing and thinking, and position yourself as a true expert.”

“You have to take charge and claim your abundance. Nobody else is going to give you permission, and nobody else is going to do that for you.”

“Abundance is directly tied to the value you provide and the difference you make in the world.”
