In this first of six episodes, Dr. Don Davis, President of The Urban Ministry Institute (TUMI) shares his vision of reaching the urban poor, including those in prison, for Christ. The goal of TUMI is to multiple pastors and lay leaders with seminary training, even for those without the skills to read. TUMI has been multiplying workers in the most dangerous fields for 25 years.

God tells Abram in Genesis 15:1 that He is Abram's shield and reward. Can that principle be applied today? Rather than looking at God being our reward as a selfish thing, Dr. Spann encourages us to see that He is our significance and security and we can love others because of His being our Reward.

We all have different pictures hanging in our minds as to what a disciplemaker is. Is it someone who has the gift of teaching in front of a large class? Is it limited to professional clergy? Is it complex? Bill Mowry, Senior Navigator staff and author of "Ways of the Alongsider" helps us understand that a more reasonable "picture" of a disciplemaker is simply someone who comes alongside someone else, encouraging them, reading Scripture and praying together. With this picture, we understand that we all can make disciples.
