Pastor Ted Veer started from a humble beginning in North Dakota, believing in Jesus at an early age, yet did not receive training in Christian growth for several years. He went to Bible College, not thinking he would ever go into ministry. There his life was transformed as he learned that God was a personal God who loved him and wanted to walk with him daily.

Sometimes maturity is equated with "doing things for Christ." However, Scripture points to another mark of a mature Christian: a life of love.

We commonly have been taught that all Christians will have essentially the same eternal experience. We've been taught that there will be no difference among people in the next life. But is that accurate from a Biblical standpoint? Is that what the Bible teaches? And if not, what determines our eternal experience? Can we use this information as a motivation for faithful living here and now?
No one is saved by their own works. Our works count for nothing when it comes to salvation. That is by faith alone in Christ alone. But what about after we are saved? Why don't believers just act any way they wish? Is there motivation to faithful living that will influence our eternal experience?

We commonly assume that when a believer dies, he or she "goes to heaven." Is that Biblically accurate? We know that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord (2 Cor. 5:8) so that the moment the believer passes into the next life they are with the Lord Jesus immediately. But what does the Bible teach about the ultimate home for the believer? You might be surprised!

After all, isn't it possible to dwell so much on the afterlife that we are of no value for service in the here and now? Learn what the Bible teaches about heaven and our need to keep "seeking the things above" (Col. 3:1-2)

In this series about heaven we look at seven myths people may have about heaven, then compare them to what Scripture actually teaches.

There seems to be a push to accept viewpoints that are not Biblical, simply because the culture teaches us to do this? Why is this? Even more importantly, what are some ways we can get more of God's perspective and thus know and operate out of the truth of Scripture rather than going along with the crowd?

Getting God's perspective on life is indeed a lifelong process. Often we let the world influence us and just "go along to get along." If we live life according to God's blueprint, seeking and applying His wisdom from His inerrant Word, blessing will follow. But often our views of what is right and wrong are shaped more by culture than by God's Word. We must seek to be transformed by the renewing of our mind rather than conform to the world's standards (Romans 12:2).
