In this episode, I’m diving into courage—how to build it, how to move forward even when we’re scared, and how to stay connected to our values in challenging times.
I’ve been thinking a lot about the courage of previous generations, especially my grandmother. She faced so many hardships—losing the love of her life, battling cancer, and ultimately having to rebuild her life multiple times. Looking back now, I see how much courage that took. It reminds me that even though we often think about courage as extraordinary, many ordinary parts of life such as aging, facing uncertainty, and navigating life’s challenges all require bravery.
But courage doesn’t mean not being afraid. We often think, “I wish I were braver,” when what we really mean is, “I wish I weren’t scared.” But courage is acting despite fear. It’s making a decision to move forward, even when it’s uncomfortable.
I also share three ways we can build courage in our daily lives:
1️⃣ Reconnect with your core values – Surround yourself with reminders of what truly matters to you.
2️⃣ Take action, even before you feel ready – Courage often follows action, not the other way around.
3️⃣ Build a courageous community – Find people who uplift and support you in being brave.
Take a listen to foster your own courage -- and share it with a friend, so we can build a courageous community together.
