  • Episode 45: Getting To Know Yourself Without The Pressure, With Martina Morris
I met Martina teaching English in a rural part of Japan over twelve years ago (or was it more?). We bonded over chocolate. And tea. And long chats about travel, relationships and what adventures we wanted to have in our lives.

Parting ways after a year together our friendship never dissipated. Our Skype chats go for hours, I’ve witnessed her at least ten different homes in that time (her husband is in the military) and there’s one specific quality that has shone through regardless of how challenging or joyful that phase of her life has been: kindness.

Martina is one of the most thoughtful, loving and considerate people I know. And she’s been a big example to me of what is possible when you make a decision to choose how you want to feel in your life. She’s moved constantly, often many many miles away from family, made choices to step away from her career and welcome in being a stay at home mum, and now homeschools her three children.

In this episode we’re letting you in on a Skype date with us really, as I’m sure we forgot at times we were even recording. We talk about “not feeling at home” in your daily life and how to keep going, why Martina adopted a mantra of “much, not many” and how that supports her to live with joy, and the steps she took to start feeling “awakened” again.

  • Episode 44: Creating More Time For Yourself & Coffee
Here I go again, talking about coffee. I know I know. I’ve been taking myself on coffee dates for over eight years now – and whilst I’m a self confessed coffee snob and it’s kinda about the coffee, it’s really really not. The coffee dates have been my way of creating more spaciousness in my life, giving myself permission to choose me first. They came at a time in my life when I was burnt out and realised I’d been “on” for so long and never really given myself the time to be alone. Scary at first, they quickly become a non-negotiable in my life. Maybe coffee’s not your thing, there could be something else that is your version of creating space for yourself. In today’s episode I’m sharing more about my coffee date philosophy plus four tips for how to keep showing up for yourself and creating that space.

  • Episode 43: How To Be Positive And Still Talk About The Hard Stuff, With Laura Jones
“Pops of positivity” is what her Instagram bio states. And it couldn’t be more true. Having stumbled upon Laura Jones’ illustrations in my feed and hitting save on just about every single one of them, I got curious and wanted to hear more about her story.

A kindergarten teacher that “doodled” in her spare time to process her feelings, Laura Jones is passionate about spreading as many smiles as she can.

Whilst she’s had a version of her blog for many years (recently republished as hellohappee.com), her illustrations officially started on Instagram two years ago (now with over 130k followers).

Starting to post her “doodles” was a way to create a positive space where people could go, something she wished people had been talking about when she was growing up and living with anxiety.

I love so much about this conversation! Laura shares a common belief of mine, that we can talk about the hard stuff and still be positive. We talk about how creativity has supported her wellbeing, the power of imagination, taking care of our emotions and mental health, and the lesson that’s in our breaking points.

I can’t wait for you to listen!

  • Episode 42: Being Productive And The Myths Holding You Back
We get caught up on thinking to be productive we have to be in doing mode all the time. The more we do the more productive we are. Yet what if productivity was actually much more about how you feel? And that if you could tap into a sustainable fuel source to keep going – wouldn’t that be better than reaching the end of the road and burning yourself out all the time? Productivity is one of the most common conversations I have in my coaching sessions and it could well be a 10-part series. Today in the episode I’m sharing a few ways to look at productivity differently, to create more a release valve in your life whilst still feeling like you’re achieving – just this time you ge tot feel good about it at the same time.

  • Episode 41: Unlocking Your Creativity, Emotional Rollercoasters, And Radical Rest, With Millie Ralph
One of my favourite quotes from today’s episode: “Life is really wonky”. Because it’s so true! And there’s lots of beauty in allowing some of that wonkiness in.

I’m so happy to be introducing you to the wonderful Millie Ralph today – to celebrate the launch of Season 3!

And what a start. This conversation was rich, honest and loving. And there’s even a special bonus treat for you at the end.

Millie transitioned from a career of over a decade in acting to supporting women’s wellbeing through sound healing, meditation and yoga therapy. She says for years before she made the change she felt something unsettling, that kept her labelling herself in one area. It wasn’t until she realised “I can do lots of things” that she gave herself permission to let go and build something new.

Millie shares openly about how some of those pressures started to build for her, until she reached a tipping point. Including facing some health challenges along the way.

We talk about the importance of feeling, the daily practice of letting go, rest being “truly radical”, and so much more. Listen out for Millie’s top tip for destressing and creating more calm (it’s one of my favourites).

She now works with women who are wanting to connect back to their natural cycles and womb wisdom, through her sound healing practices and classes. And as a special bonus treat – we recorded a 10min guided sound bath for you at the end of the episode. Get ready for some instant calm. 😉

  • Episode 40: How To Keep Going No Matter What
Have you ever found yourself a little distracted from your goals, or lacking motivation or energy to keep going after a couple of setbacks? Today’s episode is all about how you can support yourself during these moments to remain fuelled and energised to keep going no matter. As we move between seasons or “phases” of our goal-setting or dream-creation, there’s these micro pauses or transitions that take place. Paying more attention to how you’re supported yourself in between and during the transitions can have a big impact on your follow through. Whether that’s a transition from your busy work day to an evening out with friends, or it’s a transition from the goals you thought you’d have achieved in quarter one to quarter two. I talk about how having a vision set from a place of joy guarantees you actually follow through, how you can use these “transition moments” to take stock and recharge, and why remaining flexible allows the momentum of your progress to build.

  • Episode 39: How To Be Driven And Still Listen To Your Feelings With Eleanor O'Leary
Having carved out a successful career working with some of the world’s biggest companies, Eleanor O’Leary found herself questioning if “there was something wrong” with her when she started to feel detached and disconnected. It’s been a journey of tuning in to things that feel energising, trusting herself more and allowing some things to fall away.

Now running her own business, The Better Brand Consultant, she works alongside the new era of CEOs and unlocks the power of ambitious businesses with her authentic, culturally relevant brand building & communication strategies; proving that you can be both conscious and commercial. When she's not championing independent media and sustainable led brands, she can be found taking a simple approach to joy: good friends, greenery, and gratitude.

We talk about self-confidence, why it’s okay to keep things simple when it comes to personal growth, and how to keep tuning in to those deeper gut pulls to live a life that feels more fulfilling.

  • Episode 38: Why You Need Go Slow Strategies & The Power Of Hitting Pause
Overloaded schedules, over-committing to projects at work, wanting to fit it all in, yet feeling absolutely exhausted and bogged down. Why do we do it to ourselves? Our relationship with busy can keep us locked in a cycle of feeling like we just need to “get through” instead of changing the dynamic. Yet what if you had a few simple ways to start the process of untangling. To renegotiate how you value your relationship with your time and energy, in order to actually feel the way you want to feel in your life. That’s what today’s episode is all about. I’m sharing three simple ways for you to create your own “go slow” strategies so you can feel alive again your life instead of bogged down.

  • Episode 37: Leaning Into Excitement, Trusting Yourself & Staying True To Your Values With Sophie Clyde-Smith
Studying Biomedical Sciences then finding herself supporting people to progress their careers and build side hustles may not sound like a natural fit. Yet Sophie Clyde-Smith’s journey from the rockpools of Jersey (UK) through recruitment has been about following what feels good to her and trusting that things will always work out. I love her spirit of continuing to tune into what matters most to her and how that fuels her approach to her business (happy 1st birthday Sophie!).

If you’ve ever felt like your approach to your career feels out of sorts, or that you have so many interests you’re not sure how to tie it all together – you’re going to love hearing Sophie’s story. We talk about knowing your values, leaning into things that excite you, not being afraid to receive a few “rejections” along the way, and how to have trust and confidence in your decisions.

  • Episode 36: Creating Community And Connection
Turns out I have a lot to say on this topic! Connection and community – we all want it. We all crave it. It’s pretty natural. Yet as adults something starts to shift and we realise that without consciously putting the structures in place, then those feelings of disconnection and isolation start showing up more. Having noticed the different seasons of my life and my own change of needs when it comes to community and connection, there are five ways that have consistently given me the ability to keep creating that connection – which I’m sharing in this episode. I’ve lived in different countries, had penpals, so many Skype dates, and I know this to be true – what you nurture, grows.
