Every club has its legends. There are players that go down in the annals of history as the greatest ever player. For many Manchester City fans, that man is Colin Bell. Signed from Bury in 1966, Bell went on to make almost 500 appearances for the Blues in a 13-year period. Part of one of the club's most devastating attacking lines, along with Francis Lee and Mike Summerbee, Bell's career was cruelly cut short due to injury - he was never able to recapture the form he had previously showed. Playing for the football club that you love is a boyhood dream for youngsters, however that dream turned into a nightmare for many. Former Manchester City striker David White is one of those who has bravely shared his story about the abuse he suffered at the hands of his football coach, Barry Bennell. Some players don't spend a long time at a club, but still make a big impact or are known for one moment. Niclas Jensen, during his season-and-a-half at Maine Road, was a solid left back option for Kevin Keegan's Manchester City. However, he's most remembered for a wonder strike in a home win over Leeds in 2003. Manchester City have often been dubbed the comedy club for their ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Nothing is too weird for the Blues to have done and it's why the fans have always needed a dark sense of humour - even when it's looked like times have been good, in more recent years. There aren't many players who make the switch directly from Manchester United to Manchester City and that's exactly what Terry Cooke did in 1999. Of course, City were in the third tier and United were in the Premier League - so they weren't really competing with each other at that stage. It's still an exclusive club to be a member of. Cooke went on to play a part in City's back-to-back promotions to return to the top flight and took a successful spot-kick in the penalty shoot-out win over Gillingham at Wembley. With only 18-months at Manchester City, Colin Hendry is one of the players that fans wish they could have seen more of. Signed from Blackburn in 1989, he moved back to Ewood Park less than two years later after he fell out of manager Peter Reid's plans. With Blackburn, he'd go on to become a Premier League winner. Known for his tough-tackling and ability on the ball, Hendry was well-liked by the Maine Road faithful for his flamboyant style on the ball. Paul Walsh may have only spent 18 months at Manchester City, but it left a lasting impression on his life. For a spell, Kit Symons thought he had scored the goal that had kept Manchester City in the Premier League. His equaliser on the final day of 1995-96 against Liverpool at Maine Road seemed to be enough to secure survival - but duff information had reached the dugout. That 2-2 draw was still sending City down, and their time-wasting had been problematic. Symons was at City during one of the most difficult spells - which included managerial changes and two relegations.
