There is only one name that the Church is supposed to make great among the nations, the name of Jesus. Before His ascension, Jesus gave His disciples a commission that was rooted in His infinite desire for mankind and backed by the authority that was given to Him through the finished work of the cross. This commission would come to define, in this age, the mandate of the global Church. It is called the Great Commission. Sadly, the Great Commission is disappearing from the vision of the Body of Christ with recent statistics indicating upwards of 82% of churchgoers in America have not heard of, cannot identify, and cannot explain the Great Commission. We must, with all of our energy, work to Make the Great Commission Great Again.
Many across the Body of Christ are practicing the discipline of fasting as we begin this new year. R.A. Martinez and our guest take on the topic of New Testament fasting: what it is and what it isn't. It's not the WHAT of fasting that makes it effective, it is the WHY of fasting and the WHO you are encountering while you fast. Enjoy!
Happy New Year!
As we begin 2021, we look back to a message from R.A. Martinez titled "Grace and Peace" from the sermon series "The Man Among the Lampstands." We walked through Revelation chapter 1 during the fall of 2020 at our MAPS Family Gatherings (Sunday Service). We are convinced that the most important man for the church to have her eyes on is not the man in the White House: it is the Man among the lampstands. He has an unlimited supply of grace and peace for His church in the middle of the confusion, chaos, and crisis.
You can listen to the full series on the MAPS Family Gathering Podcast. Thanks for listening!

Enjoy this fifteen-minute clip that was cut for time from our last episode (56: Be Like Barnabas).
In this episode, we revisit one of our favorite characters in the New Testament! R.A. Martinez takes a fresh look at Barnabas and the offering that changed history. Supernatural giving carries the seeds of divine destiny. As 2020 comes to an end, let's all resolve to be like Barnabas.
There is a throne in the tabernacle. There was one in David's day. There is one in our day. There will be one forever in the age to come. This is the second part of a two-part series on the Tabernacle of David. King David's heart to build God a resting place in his generation produced a worship culture that became the blueprint for revival in Israel, the model of the New Testament church, and the patter of Jesus' Kingdom in the age to come. R.A. Martinez walks us through the storyline of the Old Testament through the New Testament explaining what exactly is the Tabernacle of David.
