Today we are going to talk with a National Park Service contractor who hires Workampers for a variety of jobs, especially at Glacier National Park in Montana.

Xanterra Travel Collection is a travel and hospitality company that provides services to national parks and other popular destinations. As a whole, the company hires a bunch of Workampers every year.

Mark Ducharme is the general manager overseeing the Xanterra operation at Glacier National Park. He is seeking Workampers to staff hotels, restaurants, bars and retail operations throughout the park.

Xanterra also hires drivers for its 33 distinctive red buses which shuttle visitors and employees around the park.

The park is located in one of the most scenic areas of America and is a popular place for outdoor recreation offering everything from hiking and fishing to camping.

The seasonal jobs start in May or June and continue through September, and are all paid positions. RV spots are not free, but are available at a very affordable rate of $12.25 per day for full hookup sites.

Marc talks about some of the typical duties that Workampers perform, and the types of requirements necessary for the jobs.

Most of the positions are part-time, however full-time jobs are also available. The company tries very hard to give people two consecutive days off every week so they can take advantage of the recreation opportunities.

There may still be a few retail positions open this summer, but Marc is also hiring for 2021.

It is a wonderful opportunity for people who love being in the outdoors in a very scenic part of America.

Glacier National Park is one of the country’s most popular tourist destinations, attracting more than 3 million people each year.

There are more than 700 miles of hiking trails within the 1,500-square-mile wilderness area that is home to 71 species of mammals plus lakes filled with fish of all kinds. Glacier was one of the first areas designated as a national park.

This job is unique in that you really don’t need an RV in order to get a position because the park has some cabins available for seasonal workers to use as well.

The company can use people of all ages and backgrounds. The one thing Workampers really need is a good attitude.

Working in Montana will be a different experience knowing that the sun doesn’t set until 10:30 p.m. The park is also a short distance from Canada and several national forests.
