We discuss an important avatar of Sophia: Mary Magdalene. We take a spanning odyssey to understand Mary Magdalene from many angles and interpretations — in the end seeing her as a leader and mystic of the ages. This exploration includes legends, gospels, and apocryphal works like the Gnostic texts, as well as Mary’s pagan aspects of Isis and other goddesses.
