Mark has suggested that while Jeffrey owned the island, it was not the den of horrors portrayed in the media, framing it more as a retreat that outsiders have mythologized. His comments often attempt to blunt the island’s infamy, casting doubt on the narrative that it was the central hub of Jeffrey’s abuse network.


At the same time, his remarks have been widely criticized as an effort to protect his brother’s image and minimize the dark reality tied to the island. Survivors and investigators have pointed to Little St. James as a key location where Epstein trafficked and abused victims, with flight logs, witness testimony, and staff accounts all reinforcing its role. Mark’s insistence on painting a different picture has only fueled skepticism about his motives, as many view his statements as part of a broader attempt to rehabilitate Jeffrey’s legacy despite overwhelming evidence of what happened there.
