Last Thursday, the Heartbeat Bill passed the South Carolina Senate 40-13 and the House by a vote of 78-35. The passage follows Arkansas, North Dakota, Iowa, Kentucky, Mississippi, Georgia, Missouri, Louisiana, Tennessee, and Ohio in passing Heartbeat laws. Heartbeat Bills have now been introduced in 29 states.

On today’s show, Mark shares a powerful floor speech from Rep. Melissa Oremus that will bring tears to your eyes. Also, Mark will reference a recent independent study that demonstrates how hearts and minds are being changed despite these laws not being enforced. Abortion advocates even make the case that these laws lead to women concluding that abortion is illegal.

Because the law is a teacher, many children are alive today because of the HB Bill efforts. Rather than the HB Bill teaching ageism, as some wrongly believe (with no imperial evidence to back it up), it has changed hearts resulting in saved lives and we now have independent confirmation of that fact.

Abortion has been decriminalized from conception to birth for decades before these HB Bills were passed. HB Bills don’t legalize any abortions. A law that limits evil (which all laws do) isn’t evil. The civil government is meant to be a restrainer of evil. Even abortion bans don’t zero out the behavior; they build fences around the evil and set criminal sanctions for the behavior.

From the study:

"Many women in Ohio were unsure whether abortion is illegal in the state (26.2%); a smaller subset (9.8%) believed it to be illegal. The prevalence of believing that abortion in Ohio is illegal increased during the study interval, which corresponded to the interval marked by legislative and judicial activity surrounding the six-week ban in Ohio."

HB Bills teach that abortion is illegal to a good percentage of the female population, which inevitably leads to saved lives.

This is good news!

In 1999, I was with Center for Bio Ethical Reform (CBR) leading the Genocide Awareness Project (GAP). We were invited to take the display to the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC by the UBC Students for Life.

Upon are arrival in Vancouver, the university demanded CBR pay $10K for “security fees.” Instead of paying the fee, we sued the university.

Despite that setback we still were able to train some students in pro-life apologetics. That is when I met the student leader for UBC Students for Life, Stephanie Gray.   Eventually, Stephanie and her group were able to conduct the outreach at UBC.

Now, Stephanie has become one the foremast pro-life apologists in North America. Stephanie has authored two books :

During the COVID 19 crisis, the abortion cartel has moved to eliminate the Risk Evaluation and Mitigation strategies (REMs) currently in place for pill abortions to protect women’s lives.

The abortion lobby wants the health and safety standards (REMs) to be dropped for the easy distribution of chemical abortion pills. We cannot allow that to happen!

Pill abortions usually involve two drugs. The first, mifepristone (also called RU486) starves and suffocates the baby. After mifepristone is taken, the mother’s production of progesterone is blocked. This hormone is needed to stabilize the lining of the uterus. As the uterine lining breaks down, the baby’s flow of nourishment and oxygen is cut off, starving and suffocating her.

Additionally, President Biden has tasked the director of national intelligence to work with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Homeland Security to produce a comprehensive threat assessment.

Historically, Created Equal travels to the annual DC March for Life next week to represent abortion victims to the marchers using our Jumbo Tron. Unfortunately, last week the March for Life cancelled the event.

But God had another plan! Missouri has become an abortion free!

At a time where our movement is being forced to play defense politically, Missouri becoming the first abortion free state reminds us that we cannot look to Washington, DC to solve the scourge of abortion killing.  The daily work of changing minds needs to continue to happen at the state and local level not Washington, DC.

But even with this victory the future is going to be challenging. The question is: Where should we be devoting our efforts now that Joe Biden has been inaugurated?
