  • #81 - Sam Demma | 18 Year Old Changing the World One Small Consistent Action at a Time - Environment
Sam Demma is an 18-year-old founder of an environmentally community-conscious organization, PickWaste in Toronto, Canada.

PickWaste is a community initiative that was started out of the necessity to clean up mother earth. We make an impact by cleaning up local landscapes for one hour, once a week. It began as four young men but has quickly spread throughout the community. There are now over 200 people on our email list, and each week we clean up alongside 15-20 local volunteers. We are a team and a family, one that welcomes all members of any age.

At PickWaste we know that nature and the vitality of the human species is one and the same. When we pollute Mother Nature, we are in turn causing much unnecessary suffering to ourselves.

    - The oceans we fill with chemicals is ultimately the water we will drink and the fish we will eat!
    - The air we pollute with greenhouse gases and smoke from industrial factories is ultimately the air that we will breathe in!
    - The soil we spray with pesticides and fertilizers is ultimately growing the vegetables and fruits that we will eat!

This is why we believe there are so many diseases and degenerative conditions in today's society. This is why we're so passionate about PickWaste and saving the environment, and essentially saving all of humanity!

We are big believers in starting small towards producing massive change, and there is no better way to start fixing this problem than by picking up trash. Garbage clean up is so simple, yet so effective.

Simple because everyone can participate and there are no educational requirements. Effective because the law of social proof states that when people observe others partaking in any activity they will feel more inclined to join themselves! Its these little consistent actions that will change our planet.

X-Navy Seal, William H. McRaven, said that if you do the little things right you can change your life, and then change the world. We believe that picking up garbage is the little thing that can change our community, and then the world will follow!

    • Completed 40 cleanups in the city of Pickering
    • Filled over 490 bags of litter
    • Spoken in front of 16 crowds to spread awareness

  • Becoming a Human 2.0 Motivation - The Moment My Entire Life Changed
The first Humans 2.0 motivation track that I think many of you will enjoy. In this motivational speech, I walk down my thought process that led to my entire life changing.

If you liked this please let me know or if you have any feedback in general on social media please.

After hearing story, after story, after story, of great human beings, entrepreneur’s, change-makers, industry-shapers my mind started to shake. I didn’t know what it was but my mind wanted more.

I was hungry. I was STARVING, not for food but for something else I couldn’t put my tongue on.

and then I heard a Steve Jobs quote that said:

When you grow up you tend to get told that the world is the way it is and your life is just to live your life inside the world. Try not to bash into the walls too much.

Wow, isn’t that so true I thought. Kids, the people that will run this world are currently being stored away in 6 x 5 boxes and are taught to raise their hand to request permission to use the bathroom. Children are taught to obey, not to challenge or think creatively in an ever-changing and rapidly evolving technological environment. Wow.

    Steve Jobs continued:
Everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you. And you can change it, you can influence it… Once you learn that, you'll never be the same again

Indeed. Steve Jobs was right on as always. I was never the same again. And you’ll never be the same again.

But only if you decide right now in this moment. See, because here’s the thing. Mankind’s infinite intelligent mind has the capacity to draw from both side of the spectrum. 2 governing paradoxical forces of reality….chaos and order. Both are needed.

and if many of us actually acted on what we thought to do we would be where our soul and heart want us to be...

and see I wasn’t in that position. I had always known what I wanted to do deep down but it was drowned by opinions, rumors, and other acts upon my own volition. I rejected my internal self like we all do and I listened to the outside external world for years without consulting myself first.

And what happens when you do that? haha Well if you have a strong soul it’ll want to come out screaming and it may destroy you in the process.

and the process…it’s painful..but it’s priceless. and that’s when I came to the realization that My Life is an exact reflection of all the decisions and choices that I’ve been making for years and where I am is exactly where I wanted to be.

and that’s the question I pondered in my mind. I realized I needed to stand up for myself, I realized that I needed to love myself, I realized that I needed to fight for what I believe is the truth in this world.

I realized that I needed to take responsibility for all of the good and bad in my life. I need to own everything and have self-worth innately in me and live a life of service and become a Human version 2.0!

    As Jay Samit once said:
Are you living life or just paying bills until you die?

  • #79 - Art Barter | Learning Servant Leadership to Transform Organizations & People from the Inside Out
Art Barter is the Founder and CEO, Servant Leadership Institute and Owner and CEO, Datron World Communications, Inc. Art and I talk about the power of serving your team.

Using his passion for servant leadership, Art Barter was able to demonstrate the power of this leadership technique, not by lecturing or writing about it, but by doing it first.

After purchasing Datron World Communications in 2004, he began to dismantle the company's traditional power-led management style and replaced it with the servant leadership model. After years of hard work, not only were the employees of Datron happier, they were more efficient. As a result, Datron grew from a $10 million company to a $200 million company in just 6 years.

In order to spread his passion for servant leadership, Art founded the Servant Leadership Institute in 2010. Since its inception, the Institute has developed a powerful curriculum with over 45 hours of training, more than half a dozen books and booklets, as well as webinars, podcasts and articles all geared toward empowering others to become effective servant leaders.

“How you get the results is more important than the results themselves.”
From the individual contributor all the way up to the CEO, every person deserves to unlock his or her full potential. Through his leadership of Datron World Communications and the success stories of other businesses that have risen to the challenge of servant leadership through his influence, Art Barter has shown that servant leadership can take an ordinary company and make it extraordinary.

Art's passion for servant leadership has earned him a spot in the top 30 leaders named to the John C. Maxwell Leadership Awards in 2015, as well as a Trust Top Thought Leader for both 2017and 2018 by the Trust Across America organization.

  • #78 - Viktor Mayer-Schönberger | Reinventing the Capitalist Economy in the Age of Big Data and Digital Disruption
Viktor Mayer-Schönberger is the Professor of Internet Governance and Regulation at the University of Oxford. His research focuses on the role of information in a networked economy.

Earlier he spent ten years on the faculty of Harvard's Kennedy School of Government. Professor Mayer-Schönberger has published seven books, as well as over a hundred articles (including in Science) and book chapters.

In modern history, the story of capitalism has been a story of firms and financiers. That's all going to change thanks to the Big Data revolution. Data is replacing money as the driver of market behavior. Big finance and big companies will be replaced by small groups and individual actors who make markets instead of making things: think Uber instead of Ford, or Airbnb instead of Hyatt.

This is the dawn of the era of data capitalism. Will it be an age of prosperity or of calamity? This book provides the indispensable roadmap for securing a better future.

His most recent book is the best-selling "Big Data" (co-authored with Kenneth Cukier). Before that he wrote the awards-winning 'Delete: The Virtue of Forgetting in the Digital Age' (Princeton University Press 2009). Ideas proposed in the book have now become official policy, e.g. of the European Union.

A native Austrian, Professor Mayer-Schönberger founded Ikarus Software in 1986, a company focusing on data security, and developed Virus Utilities, which became the best-selling Austrian software product. He was voted Top-5 Software Entrepreneur in Austria in 1991 and Person-of-the-Year for the State of Salzburg in 2000.

  • #75 - Conner Moore | Authentically Living the F**k Outta 21st Century Life on Planet Earth
Conner Moore is the Founder and Host of the Realness Media Podcast (previously the Pleasure Monkey), where the only thing off limits is bullsh*t. Conner and his guests explore the beautiful mess called life with unapologetic authenticity and no shortage of strong language. Unedited, ridiculous, and impactful all wrapped up in one big sexy show.

From Bible-Belt town to living and then escaping the American Dream, Conner Moore can now be found exploring consciousness, making podcasts, lifting heavy, and changing lives at Onnit – a company dedicated to Total Human Optimization.

After his first business venture as a gym owner began to fall apart, Conner found himself cleaning the gym listening to Alan Watts and starting to wonder if there wasn’t more to life than he’d been led to believe. Three months of living hand-to-mouth, combined with some powerful psychedelic experiences, changed his perspective on the world, which he shares with raw honesty in this interview.

The Pleasure Monkey Life (Realness Media) was created with this intention by people who felt the gap between good marketing and living a full life. We've lived too long letting others dictate our experience. If we invest in understanding ourselves, we can bring the best of us to the world, and that might just make some kind of difference.

WHAT WE GIVE A F*CK ABOUT...
    - Creating a life that allows Authentic Expression
    - Developing awareness through continuous learning and reflection
    - Empathetic connections with the life around us
    - Conscious action over ego-driven reaction
    - Respecting our connections with others
    - Reducing the power of shame in our lives and the lives of others
    - Releasing the fear of being "wrong" for the sake of growth
    - Enjoying the hell out of life

  • #72 - Isabel Hundt | Are you an Empath? Learn to Successfully Navigate Your Emotional World
Isabel Hundt is the author of The Power of Faith-Driven Success and a certified Vision & Transformation Coach, international speaker, and ambassador of Global Presence Leadership.

From a young age, Isabel experienced the world from a bird’s-eye view, seeing life from a different perspective. Now she uses her gift by combining the knowledge of sociology, psychology, and neuroscience with aspects of emotional intelligence.

She travels to conferences and universities to share her inspiring and enlightening message of tuning in to our true selves. Isabel is a proud Christ follower, wife, and mother to son Jonah. When she’s not helping people follow their dreams, Isabel practices kickboxing and body combat.

Isabel and I talk about what being an empath really means and how people can start to realize their own internal potential in life. In order to define what an Empath really is....check out some of the information below from Psychology Today:

    - Empaths are naturally giving, spiritually open, and good listeners. If you want heart, empaths have got it. Through thick and thin, these world-class nurturers will be there for you. But they can easily have their feelings hurt, too: Empaths are often told that they are “too sensitive” and need to "toughen up."

    - Empaths are highly attuned to other people’s moods, good and bad. They feel everything, sometimes to an extreme. They take on negativity such as anger or anxiety, which can be exhausting for them. If they are around peace and love, though, their bodies take these on and flourish.

    - Empaths become overwhelmed in crowds, which can amplify their empathy. They tend to be introverted and prefer one-to-one contact or small groups. Even if an empath is more extroverted they may prefer to limit how much time they spend in a crowd or at a party.

    - Empaths are big-hearted people and try to relieve the pain of others: a homeless person holding a cardboard "I'm hungry" sign at a busy intersection, a hurt child, a distraught friend. It's natural to want to reach out to these people and ease their pain. But empaths don't stop there. Instead, they take it on—suddenly they're the one feeling drained or upset when they felt fine before.
