It’s one of the most asked questions we roll around in our head as entrepreneurs: “Am I doing the right thing for my business?”
So I was thrilled to have one of my clients, Lisa Zawrotny, on to dive into her productivity and organizing business and think through her actions she’s focused on and is it getting her the results she wants.
Lisa candidly opens up about her work, her clients and where she’s trying to go. This episode was the first time Lisa and I met, and as you’ll hear, we instantly became BFFs.
Through the strategy session we explored her funnel, got clarity around exactly what Lisa does for her clients and came up with a game plan for how to make the most of the next 90 days.
What Lisa discovered is that marketing isn’t a step-by-step process that you’re either getting right or wrong. It’s a fluid plan that YOU craft to fit your business style and revenue goals.
It does not surprise me in the least that this episode on how to attract new clients is one of our top listened to episodes over the past couple of years as we hit nearly 20,000 downloads on the podcast.
You never know when you put something out years ago, if what you say holds true through the time, a couple years, and this one does. This one's good. I wouldn't change anything about what I recommend for 13 ways to attract new clients, and the four things you need to have before you even start attracting clients to make sure that it all works.

This week is all about "Find-Marketing."
How do you get in front of new people who don't know who you are?
This specific type of marketing is probably one of the ones that we get the most questions about here, because it's so heavily revolves around paid advertising.
Is it worth doing, is it not worth it? When is the right time?
For some people off the bat, it most certainly is going to be paying for advertising. But there are also some other ways you can drive traffic and meaningful ways you can still grow business. We talk about:

Most businesses I talked to and work with, get a ton of referrals - like a ton.
And the thing about that is, it's good. It's really great. You want to have referrals.
But what happens when they dry up or go away? Do you know how to use your existing client base to still make money?
This week we're diving in to planning a structuring for how to market to clients and referrals.

I think the reason marketing gets such a bad rap in the business world is because nobody knows how the heck to track it. So that actually equals money in your business.
This week, we're gonna bust that myth up, we're gonna show you exactly how you tie marketing into revenue, and pretty much make it rain dollars for your business.
I have aptly named this "How Marketing Will Bring You LOTS Dollars" - grammatically incorrect, but I felt like it really encapsulated the heart of this episode. It really answers the big question that I know everybody wants to know.
How the heck do you make marketing grow your business in a revenue sense?
What happens when you have new people coming into your world? They might join your email list, find out about your business, but they're not ready to buy from you.
What kind of marketing works for this? Let's break that down this week.
Part Two of What Makes or Breaks Your Marketing dives into how you build a marketing funnel that will help your business grow sustainably in a way that's really easy for you to handle, manage and actually like doing!

Today I’m kicking off a 5-part series where we dive into the murkier parts of marketing that will transform your business if you take 30 minutes this week to inspect.
I believe there are five types of marketing every business needs to have in order to be truly successful.
Most businesses? They focus primarily on 1 type.
Which means 20% of their marketing carries the weight of their business. No wonder people think they suck at marketing, they’re doing it wrong!
The five types of marketing your business should be focusing on every single week are:
Find - Get in front of new people who don’t know who you are.
Attract - Get cold leads to engage with your brand and stick around so you have the opportunity to turn them into buyers.
Nurture - The most common type of marketing: How you show up to your existing audience every week (or a minimum monthly).
Invite - Turn it from marketing to making sales with a clear call to actionh
Delight - How you wow your customers and turn them into raving fans and lifelong referral partners.
Today we are going to start at the very beginning.
Where do you START someone in your marketing funnel?
And what is a true marketing funnel?
A marketing funnel is a fancy way for saying how do you move a cold lead to a paying customer?
There has to be a specific type of path that helps your lead take baby steps forward or they’ll run to the hills every time.
