This for me is one of the most exciting time of the year. The end of the year.
Because this is a great time to reflect, project, acknowledge, plan, learn, visualize, compile.
Speaking of which…
I have a grateful box. Do you know what it is ?
It's a box filled with moments that my life partner, my son and I went through and that were happy, proud, special. In othwer words, they were worth to be written on a piece of paper.
On December 31st, we'll take time to read them all and recognize how much happiness was in our lives this year and how we are grateful for what we have, who we are and what we've accomplished.
Talking about accomplishments….
I wanted to share with you the top 10 episodes of MTCYC podcast for the year 2016.
The ones that touched you the most. The most listened to. The ones who meant the most to you.

« When you've got an idea, a spark or something that you want to do, you find means and ways to make it happen. » - Danny McMillan, about the essence of an entrepreneur
Here is a quote from my guest this week, Danny McMillan. He is an entrepreneur and private label Amazon seller, but also an international speaker.
We talk PPC advertising. And because Danny explains it so well, here is a direct transcript of our interview together :
« So, anyone who's out there in the audience now will maybe go, "Okay, I need to drive traffic to my website to earn money."
So, let's just say you've got a small construction business, like we built out, is that we take it right down to the fact that it's a landing page.
You research your market, you create your customer avatar, but you only build that one landing page. You do your keyword research, and then what you do is you run tests, because you'll want to know if that market's going to work for you before you do any investments.
Because, a lot of people run off and go and get their copyrights sorted, their trademark in, their branding, and all this stuff, but you need to really test these things first to see if you've got a viable business.
There are books out there. I think Eric Ries has got a book, like the Lean Startup.
Some segments out of that, I'll give an example, is just you want to find your minimal viable product. In this case, your minimal viable opportunity for business.
I learned a lot by launching just a landing page, running PPC to it for a week to see if there's anything there. If it didn't work, I could dump it and then come up with a new idea. But, I didn't just waste six to eight months of my life.
So, the next part of that is that if you don't understand how AdWords worked, you can pay what's called "idiot tax" where you're learning.
I think it's quicker to spend time getting a pilot's license than it is to really understand AdWords correctly, because it's quite a sophisticated system, unlike Amazon.
Amazon's sponsored ads platform is very, very easy. So, if you've got any knowledge on Facebook ads or AdWords ads, you'll find the structure in place is very, very simple to use Amazon ads. Anyone can use them. I could show someone, in an hour, how to get up and running, and pretty much, they'll be on their way. »
And this is just a glimpse of it !
We go on and talk about the difference between PPC advertising on Amazon, Google Adwords, Facebook and we also talk about the platform MERCH by Amazon.
And also, Danny shares a few steps to follow when starting your online business on a limited budget.
You haven't tuned in yet ? What are you waiting for ?

« What I've learned over the course of my years of just being involved in so many different things is that, granted you don't have to have single-minded focus, but lacking some focus really can kind of extend the process a little bit. » - Anthony Lee
Anthony experienced it, I did too and you might also have.
Being an entrepreneur comes with the idea that we can make lots of things happen.
That would be great if we thought about only one thing at a time…
But in fact, we have the illusion that everything can happen and blossom at once!
Anthony and I start the conversation really diving in on why focusing on one thing is the key and how doing that can lead you to accomplish so many other things afterwards.
Anthony is also very generous in sharing one of the biggest mistakes that entrepreneurs do: thinking that they can do it all on their own. He gives you a couple of steps to take to make sure that you start your business the right way.
Anthony is an expert at selling lucrative private-label products on Amazon. And he explains what you can do to start that kind of business. I like that he insists on saying that it is not easy, but it is definitely doable. Too many people try to make the world believe they had an overnight success. And it is rarely the case.
We continue our conversation talking about how to select which product you want to sell and how like any other types of businesses; there is a risk-moment to it.
Then, we get into the differences and similarities between marketing an online business and marketing an Amazon listing.
And we conclude the interview with a tremendous piece of advice about when you should finally quit your regular job to be full-time on your business:
"The best thing you can do is commit to yourself that you're going to reinvest every dime for one year." So, when you start this, you just say, "Okay, it doesn't matter how successful I am. I'm working my job and I'm doing everything like normal for 12 months minimum, and then at the end of 12 months, we'll go ahead and reassess the situation."
And that, my friends, is the key to business expansion.
Enjoy this interview filled with great lessons and actionable strategies.

My interview this week is with Suddan Shanmugasundaram.
And for the first time on my podcast, we get an interesting perspective from someone doing business in the USA and in India.
Suddan explains how USA influences India in the entrepreneurial field and how more and more Indian entrepreneurs want to earn a living, do their passion, build a startup, and be successful. And that's amazing & promising.
But, he warns entrepreneurs building their startup to stay focused. That's one of the hardest things to do! Focus on what problem you are solving and how it's going to make a difference in someone's life.
Unfortunately, a lot of entrepreneurs lose time and money building and crafting products or services that people are not ready to buy.
"We should know more about the clients than the clients know about themselves."
Suddan is also very generous into describing and explaining great lessons for entrepreneurs that are bootstrapping their business:
Build a minimum viable product and make it a product
Keep the core competency in you with you, then delegate the rest
Learn to say "no" to many things
The entrepreneurial journey is no easy road! But it's totally worth it. And this interview is worth to be listened to. It will definitely help you avoid a few mistakes and save you some time!
Enjoy!

Starting an online business is not an easy task.
And I am sure that you know it.
Even if you see some people claiming how their success came overnight.
How it was a piece of cake.
It is so not true.
This week, I speak with Joyce Oladipo.
And we have a sincere talk.
About real things.
Among these things…
A lot of online business owners start their business copying other people because they lack self-confidence. Or because it's the only thing they know.
And doing that can definitely lead to discouragement. Not attracting the right clients or not attracting clients at all…
Are you at that place right now? Not feeling in total alignment with who you "pretend" to be? If you do, you are not alone. A lot of people went through that same challenge and some others are experiencing it right now.
The solution would be to dig deeper into knowing who you really are. What defines you. What you want to express to the world. How you can serve others. And most importantly who you want to serve.
Joyce experienced a positive shift when she finally decided to do that introspection. She has kept as a part of her tribe people who fit with the "real Joyce". And it helped with her conversion rates. For sure!
Joyce and I also dive into a few strategies to help spread your message as an online business owner and we share an effective strategy to be sure to craft what your tribe wants to buy from you. A-l-l-t-h-e-t-i-m-e!
These are the kinds of interviews I love doing.
Sincere. Filled with great content. And actionable steps.
Share it with someone you care about.
