Welcome Back!

On this episode of Married With Horses, we talk about many random things. Hurricanes, Michael Bublé, Christmas decor, etc. We also discuss our plans for the WPRA Finals next weekend. We’ll be there recording some conversations to get to you guys, our listeners, over the next couple of weeks! Also, on this podcast, we put about 5min of an interview we did with Blanche Schaefer from Barrel Horse News. Just a raw cut of our conversation from an interview we did a few weeks ago for the publication. I think it’’ll be in the November 2018 issue, so be sure to check it out!

This episode is with pro rodeo legend, Joe Beaver. "Joe B” is a 8x World Champ (5x in Calf Roping, 3x All-Around), member of the PRCA Hall of Fame, 19 NFR Qualifier, 1985 PRCA Calf Roping Rookie of The Year, and all around rodeo LEGEND. These days, you can see Joe for 10 nights in December (and various other times throughout the year) as one of the TV commentators for the the PRCA and the National Finals Rodeo. Seriously, this guy IS pro rodeo.

DISCLAIMER: The sound quality at the beginning, well, kinda sucks. That’s part of interviewing professionals in the horse business. They’re always on the road in rural locations. Also, our rural Texas wifi leaves something to be desired at times. If you’ll bear with it, it gets a lot better and there are some FANTASTIC stories told! If you know Joe, you know he’s got stories. They’re plentiful and hilarious today!

Our guest this week is Tiany Schuster. Tiany is a barrel racer and record holder for most money ever won in a regular season in pro rodeo history, in ANY event. She’s been in the horse game a while and has some great insight! We of course discuss that magical season a little and discuss a few of the ups and downs she’s had in 2018. We also talk about the last BFA in Oklahoma City coming up this December and its subsequent move to the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie. Both the girls have some good stories regarding this. Today we talked with Jackie Ganter. Jackie G. is a 2x NFR qualifier and the 2015 WPRA Rookie of the Year. She’s a professional barrel racer and one of Jackie’s closest friends in barrel racing. Honestly, more like family. Jackie J. is more like an aunt to Jackie G. Given that they have the same name it’s kinda confusing. I generally refer to Jackie J. as “MY Jackie” during the conversation. Jackie J. hauled with Angela Ganter, Jackie G.’s mom, when Jackie G. was just a pup. She got to the see the ups and downs of rodeo from an early age including when Jackie J. qualified for the NFR in 2003 and 2004. Needless to say, they have a long history and it was GREAT TALK (in my Trump voice). We are certainly members of the Jackie Ganter fan club and we hope you enjoy listening to our conversation with her!

ALSO, HERE is a link to video of UNO COMMANDER (ROOSTER) that Jackie J. “lead-lined” Jackie G. on. This was during the same year they won all the lead-line barrel races around the nation including the Ogden 8 & Under. They maybe cheated running him. OH, he was 5 or 6yo when he was carrying them both that year!!! WOW!!
