Mary Burkhart grew up in the Apostolic/Pentecostal Christian traditions and was heavily indoctrinated into her faith, remaining devout for over 20 years. Her deconstruction journey took her to some very dark places, and nearly cost Mary her life. She is now a Religious Trauma Life Coach, after 10 years of personal religious deconstruction. On this episode of the Divorcing Religion Podcast, Mary shares about her journey, as a Black woman, out of faith and into coaching others recovering from RTS.
