Amie Myrick is a Maryland licensed clinical professional counselor. She graduated with her master’s degree in counseling from Johns Hopkins University. She is the owner of New Phase Counseling and Consulting, LLC, and a lead analyst at National Association for County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) where she oversees CDC-funded projects aimed at increasing community’s capacity to reduce and prevent adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and related outcomes.
Today we are discussing the resource Amie helped create, called A Survivor Guide to Mastering Media: Understanding Reactions & Caring for Self.
Amie is an ACE Interface Master Presenter in the state of Maryland and a national Healthy Outcomes from Positive Experiences (HOPE) facilitator and technical assistance provider. She has been invited to train community members and professionals on trauma-related topics throughout the country and has presented at local, national, and international conferences for nearly years on topics related to trauma and advocacy.
In addition to her clinical and training work, Amie is a research and training consultant for groups interested in infusing trauma-informed approaches into their work, building parenting and therapist-based skills, and learning more about comprehensive treatment for populations affected by trauma. She has unique clinical training in complex trauma, expertise in trauma-informed practices, policies, and treatment, and training in virtual, in-person, and hybrid facilitation, training methods, and implementation practices.
