DESCRIPTION: Do you take the time to call on God for what you

need? Or shall I say how many times have needed something

and found yourself asking others for help? Let us take a

moment and recall being a small child and what you did when

you needed help. Of course, you called for help. Our Father

the Lord God has given us instruction to call on Him. Jeremiah

33:3- Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee

great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. In this

lesson, I will encourage you to call on the Lord. He promised

not only to answer you but also to show you great and mighty

things that you never knew. That is so simple to do, but as

come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he

saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying,

Lord, save me.

DESCRIPTION OF LESSON: Our lesson today is full of excitement. This is the

MARY L WHITBY TEACHING MOMENT, “IT WILL ONLY TAKE A

MOMENT!” This lesson is mentioned three times in the scriptures, Matthew,

Mark, and John. Jesus walked on the water. The Sea of Galilee is represented

throughout the Old and New Testament. In this passage of scripture, we can see

that God is God. He has control over the chaotic circumstances of everyday life.

Peter saw someone walking in the dark on the water and asked, “Lord if it is You bid me to

come.” Then Peter left the ship and walked on the water, he became afraid of the storm and

began to sink. My question for our lesson today; Is Your Focus On JESUS? Join us for this

  But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will

serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in

whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.”

DESCRIPTION: The lesson today is all about choices. God has made us to be free moral agents with the ability to choose. There are some major decisions that we must make each day; one of them is to serve God or not to serve. As we look in the Book of Joshua, He is talking to the children of Israel about choosing and making a decision to serve the TRUE AND LIVING GOD. The people needed to make their own decisions. The choice was simple for Joshua because he had seen the handy work of God and the benefits of serving him.

God is the same God that placed the tree in the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve were given a choice to obey or disobey. He wants a meaningful loving relationship with us. It is simple, you have a choice well be reminded that God is a jealous God and we should have no other god before Him. So choose wisely. Pastor Whitby shares Matthew 5:6: Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. God has hidden treasures in His Words that are ready to be revealed to anyone hungry and thirsty for Him/His Word. It does not matter how long you have attended church; what is important is how much of God’s Word have you applied to your life. Once your hunger and thirst have been filled you must continue eating and filling up on the Word of God do not slack. You must remain in fellowship with other believers and commit to a church that is teaching God’s Truth.
