  • It’s Ok to Not Be Ok with Natasha D’Archangelo

In this episode Kim talks with Natasha, a licensed mental health counselor about how trauma can start in childhood and then play out patterns in our adult lives. Oftentimes our nervous system gets triggered from an event that brings about a response to something that happened in the past. We have a choice to decide whether we want to live our lives from a pattern or live a life. The inner work is not easy but so worth it because there is so much freedom when we heal our traumas.

"Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom"-Victor Frankl

    About Natasha:

Natasha is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the states of Florida, Oregon and Washington, a Florida Qualified Supervisor, a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), a Certified Compassion Fatigue Professional (CCFP) and a Compassion Fatigue Educator. She received her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University, Sarasota. She works with adolescents and adults in her role as a staff therapist for Headspace Health. Her previous experience includes 15 years as an educator, community mental health work and private practice. She has presented on various topics including Destigmatizing Mental Health Care, Compassion Fatigue and Effective Techniques for Working with Teens. She operates from a cultural humility perspective and is an ally of the LGTBQIA+ community. She is especially passionate about working with clients who are struggling with trauma and anxiety.

  • Changing Generational Patterns with Robin Hopkins

Almost all of humanity has baggage that is generational or as a result of societal conditioning. This is how we develop patterns and limiting beliefs that can wreak havoc on our lives if we are not mindful and intentional about changing them. In this conversation Kim and Robin Hopkins have a serious heart to heart about how these patterns show up in their lives and play out in their parenting and what they do to change the outcome so that generational patterns are not carried out in the same way. Robin will definitely make you laugh with her wit and humor but she is also very authentic and real.

"There but for the grace of God, go I."

    About Robin:

Robin Hopkins is a published writer, actress, podcast host, and former stand-up comedian. She spent 20-plus years acting as an ersatz Mr. Miyagi to all her younger coworkers. She is renowned for her career, financial, and personal advice; even more, she is known for her hilarity. She’s a cross between that bawdy mom you wish you had and that therapist you broke up with because you couldn’t afford both Avocado Toast and healing your inner child.

She also has some real-life credentials. She’s written for the NY Times, Mother Mag, Huff Post, and Medium, and is the author of the award-winning book “If These Ovaries Could Talk: The Things We’ve Learned About Making an LGBTQ Family,” about which Amy Schumer said, “I f*cking love this book.” That book is an offshoot of a popular podcast Robin co-hosted which garnered a million downloads with notable guests like Rosie O’Donnell, Michelle Buteau, and Judy Gold.
