Brother Cyril M. Bathams theory that Freemasonry may have evolved from monks secret cells surviving persecution from the King of England. You were not allowed to practice Catholicism and anyone who was found out would be imprisoned and executed. There was therefore a need for the utmost secrecy,  secret code words, signs and hand shakes.

Brother Cyril M. Batham back in 1992, gave a two-part lecture to the Philalethes Society. What he had to say was in line with what I've shared with you in previous episodes. The lecture gives us Brothers Batham theory that more than likely our craft was founded by monks and their need for secrecy during a time when the king of England was dissolving the Catholic power in England. Batham challenges the Transition Theory and held that there was no way that this ever happened let alone any evidence is out there to prove this.

In this episode I read an email from a Brother from Wendell Lodge 565 in North Carolina. He gives us his perspective on failure and its negative connotation and why failure is a good thing if used correctly. He then gets into a workout system concocted from his little Lizard brain and implements 'masonicisms' is that even a word? into his routine. Brother Cole is imparting wise and serious truths about our bodies and real effort in order to keep the body and mind strong.

I then bring out the parallels between what he writes about and Freemasonry. Stay tuned and stay strong.

We must fortify the body, mind, and soul everyday in our process of becoming better men.

The picture of King Solomon shows seven steps. He must have walked them up and down several times to get his cardio and work his legs and calves. He was truly wise and ahead of his time.

Palm Springs Lodge had its 75th Installation Of Officers on 2/26/22 as other lodges have had all around the mighty U.S. How old is the ceremony of installation? Another gem of a book " A Short History of Freemasonry to 1730" by Knoop and Jones is advertised in 1949, how much do we know, dealing with aches and pains by Bill Hinbern. Yeah buddy! Worshipful Jeff Bayer a Mason of 30 years talks briefly about his past in Freemasonry, his assent thru the chairs at Palm Springs Lodge, his observations as to how Freemasonry was being practiced back then, his rise to the East and being a part of what happens when two lodges have to consolidate. Then we get into the 8 Steps to Excellence, Masonic Education at every meeting and The Trivium Discussion Group/ Socrates Cafe and how that opened his eyes to something he had never considered. We round that up with a discussion of what he then observed when a group of masons came back to Palm Springs Lodge to help get it back on its feet and running the way it is now.
