When I first started I realized I was very disconnected from my body. I felt like I was at a war with my body and it was controlling me. But I knew if wanted to truly make peace with it and understand it, I would have to spend time with it. I couldn’t keep avoiding my body. Even though I was feeling frustrated with my body, I was willing to get to know it. I knew that more diet rules would only be a short term bandaid on the poor relationship with my body.
So I started every morning exploring what my body had to tell me. Now, I learned how to notice when my nervous system is activated and what is happening in my body so I can know when cravings are likely to come on and what my body is really needing.
