  • The Matt Duffin Show .. The Challenges of TBI
Let's discuss rehabilitaion post "the magic 18 month" period, patient sights of improvements as BI's eventually fall into traps.  Social, family, health administrations and the options of 'those folks' being not as considerate. Call in with stories of how your social circle "well, my husband had that done (did he?)" comparisons along with "Oh, I do that all the time (do you?)" likely hoods.  Even some buddies wished "they hit their head" by me recieving over-sympathy comments.   "Come an listen to my story about a man named Matt; poor Hoosier guy, who cracked his head like that.  Then one day he was cloud-like & confused.  Heard his momma say, get up you silly fool.  "A New Life there is.  Perfect thoughts with sightful tools."

  • The Matt Duffin Show - Brandie Runner's Trauma Sprinted to EHT
A psycology student and single mother stepped in a parking lot's unmarked hole and quickly banged her head on the pavement.  Broke her arm and suffered a major concussion with life time conditions, so the docs said.  Months later.  It took WEEKS to discover she also broke her arm.  Possibly the head injury personally ignoring it, because it was busy?   Her son suffered a motorcycle wreck - 4 men lifted the car off him.  What a story.  And more.  Her brain injury recovered to assist cancer survivors as her son lived on through various surgeries.  Her younger daughter kept her eye out on both. He's now in college.  How? Brandie says EHT, a natural Brain Powering, over the counter with 'coffee' dirivities included.  Have a cup with us as we discuss life, recovery and her special discovery of EHT, or Eisosanoyl-5-hydroxytryptamide (writing that ONE time).  It helps with concentration, memory and focus.  Listen to and talk to Miss Runner on EHT and what it has done for her life.   (424) 243-9540 and Press #1 on your phone to talk.  Push nothing to listen,   Idabelle Bolden was a baseball mother to me and many, many more.  More than a coach's wife, Idabelle invented the term Baseball Mom.  She passed Friday, and my heart goes out to the family and New Castle.     Speaking of NC and baseball, the Miracle League begins its 10th season this weekend with dance, unity night Friday and Opening Day on Saturday at the Miracle League Baker Park Diamonds.  We celabrated Jen's birthday and enjoyed a hot summer (wet too) week.  A change in medication has me standing on my FEET!!!. Yep, at the fine age of 57, old #34 once again is shooting to be the Opening Day starting pitcher for the Rangers (hint hint)

  • The Matt Duffin Show - "Down On Main Street"
Life 'changes' with a brain injury, it's a fact.  Comfortability isn't home, if in fact this place is home?  How DO the loved ones 'gear up' for the long battles ahead?  Is it help, listening, working and understanding?  Or is it time for a life change in total body and soul?   Personally, I moved back and purchased the house I was raised in - the first time.  I was as comfy with my father as a survivor can be.  Yet, the struggles, the fight, the battles wasn't familier, just the surroundings.  Dad was fantastic in my recovery early on, wonderful.  As he passed on, more than dad left with him.  My leader, my corritive human and my accomplice left MY team.  I have to battle on, in 'normal' Matt Duffin surroundings, 'Down on Main Street'. A certain co-host survivor was 'home' in Alabama, but her recovery was on a "Dr Thompson' tumble, and death by suicide surrounding Jennifer's thoughts.  Her battles will be discussed as she hopes you'll share interest, commonality and work to be accomplished.  To help her much, I asked her to visit with me "Down On Main Street" to save hope.  I'm an Unrealistic Belief kinda guy ya know.   Call us at (424) 243-9540 tonight at 10 p.m. until 1 a.m. to discuss, listen or talk.  Pressing #1 will go to the Talk Line.   Of the 47 (yippee) countries on BrainInjuryRadio, Bangledesh isn't one of them.  I'm rockiing B-Desh music with the fold tonight - let's rock Imran style!  (She's pretty, just hard for me to understand)

Fireworks... Love them, hate them? Too bright? Too Loud? Too many people? Children?   The fireworks didnt seem to bother Matt as much as it did me. • The Matt Duffin Show: Holy Cow Batman - Jennifer Goodman Returns!
Tonight, inside The Downtown Milton Studio my CoHost Jennifer Goodman finds her desk ready to discuss and talk life with a brain injury and so much more.  I'm betttng.  Same Southern draw, same beautiful face.  The Studio is STILL in disarray, but we'll get it.     Batman, THE Batman Mr. Adam West passed away on Friday, and my heart is sad.  The man helped raise me.  Taught me, showed me brutal power isn't the way to begin a confontation, but sometimes has to end in that manner.  If the Riddler was trying to drop you in a vat of acid, you'd wanna kick is giggling butt too!  But, the show will mainly consist of Jennifer, YOU FOLKS and the plights, fights and rises against Traumatic Brain Injury.  POW! BOOM!  BAM! Robin, and Lefty does give a listen to my co-host.  Me too.  And here she is... "Hey ya'll-Glad to be back, hope everyone is well and happy. I brought my Alabama sunshine to Indiana, so yes its beautiful, sunny and gorgeous day. Please join us tonight for a little "sunshine" for the soul. Call in-I have really missed all of you.  XOXO Jennifer"   (424)  243-9540 is the number to call, listen and of course (but ya don't have too) TALK.  Of course Batman themed rock tonight!  I miss my boy, er, man..

  • The Matt Duffin Show - Magic Carpet Ride? Wooly Bully...
Rockin' into the summer.  RHI Ski Days are Wed and Thur.  We're set to do Thursday, but I'll check the weather first.  Indiana is FINALLY blooming into beautiful, 'Globle Warming' wise for the season.  Hope you're weather is fine too.  Gonna talk brain washing, with a clean rag, and climate control. The last is easy - we can't.  Brain washing?  Oh my, the words out of my lips tonight.  Should be illegal - a brain wash, and sometimes my mouth.  But with a TBI?  Be it family or friend, its unrightous and wrong.  Period.  Watch that back, sides and front at ALL times, but be nice in doing so.  Yep, its a trick to life skills.  "Kill them with kindness" someone said once.  Twice? Not my strong skill.  YET, Coping with life is, damned TBI or not.  Call me, at THE Downtown Milton Studio (hoping it works well) tonight fron 10 - 1  @ (424) 243-9540 and Press 1 to TALK, or just listen in.  It works on a phone anywhere in the world, even Antartica...

  • The Matt Duffin Show - Memorial Daze
Memorial Day.  We remember our fallen hero's of war, and occasionally peace.  This is America afterall, Land of the free, home of the brave and country built by war.  We also understand that Memorial Day helped put both itself and the Indianapolis 500 on the holiday maps.  300,000 folks in one spot, it's certainly a Memorial.  NASCAR joined the Memorial race rally with it's All Star event - the World 600.   Picnic cookout at Matt's house today.  Jennifer, yes THAT Jennifer Goodman did most of the cooking, er, grilling, and we thank her gratefully in Milton.  I believe she understands how much she is appreciated with open arms and warm hearts.  And, then there's me.   Hoping for John Mills, TransAm Race Car driver near to our heart opens with us tonight at 10:15 or close.  Let's talk to a real race car driver on such a racing day.   The Downtown Milton Studio is 90% back in gear!  However, the 10% in question, may cause us problems.  Then again, this 3.4% of Survival of a life usually causes us problems.  BUT, I do it for us, because ----------- WE CAN.   Yes, Jennifer is IN THE HOUSE, but taking a break from the Air Waves.  It's all good, we learn, we grow, and we jump back in the saddle, when ready to ride that is. Call us, fill the time up.  Or, I'll take a Provagil and just talk....  (424)  243-9540  Press nothing to listen in, Press 1 to ask to talk. And always remember TBI Survivors, as we smile and Rock:  "It's a long way, to the top, if you want to rock and roll..."  So my children, and those older than me (really, are you?) ROCK your THERAPY, simply ROCK IT!
