Matt's puppetry career started as an understudy for the Coca-Cola Polar Bear, before joining Sesame Street in 1996 as a Muppet performer. For many years, he was Caroll Spinney's understudy for Big Bird before fully inheriting the character, as well as inheriting characters like Count von Count and Mr. Johnson. With The Muppets, Matt performs Constantine and '80s Robot and took on the roles of Kermit the Frog, Floyd Pepper, Uncle Deadly, Sweetums and others. He also puppeteered on Bear in the Big Blue House, Between the Lions, Oobi and many more!
