Dave & Jonny spent the day with Matthew McClean this week and played Castlerock golf club. We travelled up to Portrush and stayed at the Portrush Atlantic Hotel, we filmed the entire trip so keep an eye on our youtube channel for the full video.

This year, Matt became the first Irish golfer to win a USGA final when he defeated his close friend Hugh Foley in the US Mid-Am at Erin Hills.

Matt spoke to us about his season, his multiple near misses after a playoff defeat to Colm Campbell in the Irish Amateur Championship, a runner-up finish to Hugh Foley in the North, a semi-final loss in the Irish Close as well as two top-6 finishes abroad. Matt spoke about the relief of winning, as well as everything that comes with it, an invite to the US Open as LA County Club and The Masters. His fourball with Shane Lowry, Rory McIlroy and Seamus Power is already confirmed.
