As the season approaches the Mavs-related topics are increasing. This week there was some basketball to talk about, new contracts, potential league-wide changes, and some drama. Reese and Bibs get into it all.
The first item on the docket was Maxi's contract extension. Resident Maxi supporters, the Outsiders discuss Maxi's extension and how they feel about the amount, the length, and the idea of giving him the deal this early.
They then move on to the opposite end of the spectrum and discuss Luka's legal drama. Luka and his mother are locked in a fight over the rights to the trademark on his name and things are already looking nasty. The rumors make it clear that this is not a black-and-white issue and the Outsiders lay out all the information that we know now.
For a change of pace, Reese and Bibs transitioned to a discussion about She-Hulk. There are spoilers so skip this section if you are not caught up on the show.
Getting back to basketball, Reese and Bibs had a discussion about Eurobasket through the Round of 16. The tournament remains thrilling and it is fun to have good basketball being played as we wait for the regular season to return. Luka and Slovenia had the easiest first-round opponent, and though they put up a fight, the results proved that. Slovenia plays Poland Wednedsday and if they win, they'll play the winner of France vs. Italy Friday, then would play in the Final or 3rd place game on Sunday. The next time we record will be after the Final so we'll know what happened.
Finally, the Outsiders discussed the idea of the in-season tournament and Mark Cuban's comments on the idea. The pair have different thoughts on this topic in particular, but where do you land?
