Mavs Outsiders

In this episode, Reese and Bibs fail miserably at keeping the episode short yet again. We spent a good bit of time going over the games before we finally got to your mailbag questions. There were a lot of good questions and we had some fun with them. After that, Reese chose a verrrrrrry interesting Unsung Hero of the week before Bibs' Weekly Forecast. In the early part of the show, our boys rambled a bit about the movie industry, and that conversation was put at the end of the show to save you the trouble. 

The Dallas Mavericks went 3-1 this week so it was a good week. We also got Luka back for the last game and the team will have some decisions to make about the roster. Let's hope they make the right ones.

In this episode, the Outsiders spend a lot less time on the game-by-game breakdown and focus on the new faces that were shuffled into the lineup. The Mavs were hit hard by Covid and had to sign 6 replacement players. This resulted in the Mavs playing a different brand of basketball for the past week and opened some eyes to the potential of this team. We should be getting Luka back this week so things are going to get very interesting. 

We recorded this episode during the Mavs-Blazers game so you will hear us reacting to the game as it is happening during this recording. Please forgive us.

Bibs went through all of NBA history to determine the 75 GREATEST players to play in the NBA/ABA. Last year's results turned out great but there were tweaks made to the formula to see if the results could be even better. I am incredibly happy with the results and cannot wait for you to see the full list.

In part 3, I give you players numbers 60 through 51. This episode includes a lot of great point guards, a group that I tried to boost with some of the changes I made to the formula. While some of them did move up, a lot stayed in this range.

We started with the big win over the Charlotte Hornets on Monday, moved to the OT loss against the Lakers in the AD vs. KP fraud bowl, then finally the Minnesota covid protocols game. 

In the middle, Bibs blesses your ears with a rant, this time about Josh Green. With the results we've gotten from the SG position, is it time for you to jump on board the Josh Green train? The choice is yours but Bibs states his case as to why he's all-in on the kid. 

Of course, we close things out with Reese's Unsung Hero of the Week and Bib's Weekly Forecast before getting into our predictions for the coming week.

In this week's episode, Bibs and Reese had 4 games to talk about but there was plenty more going on with the Dallas Mavericks this week. The Mavs went 2-2 this week with losses to the Brooklyn Nets and Indiana Pacers and wins over the Memphis Grizzlies and Oklahoma City Thunder. 

The Mavs owner/Governor decided to take to Twitter to let it be known that he doesn't have any interest in engaging with dissenting Mavs fans on Twitter because "NBA Twitter" could not be further away from the real fanbase and many didn't take that information kindly. 

There was some ranting that took place in this episode and a lot of frustration was let out. Apologies in advance to the city of Dallas for some words that were said.

In this episode, Bibs and Reese go over yet another mediocre (at best) week of Dallas Mavericks basketball. The Mavericks lost to the Memphis Grizzlies without Ja Morant, Kyle Anderson, and Brandon Clarke, They also lost to the New Orleans Pelicans after blowing out the Pelicans by 32 two days prior. Both of these losses were preceded by a blowout loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. 

Kristaps Porzingis missed the last two games with a knee injury and Luka Doncic missed the Grizzlies game with a knee injury of his own. It's bleak out here people. Insult was added to injury when Desmond Bane called out the Dallas Mavericks not drafting him and called out Josh Green by name. 

On top of this, Bibs felt the need to let off some thoughts on Luka Doncic's leadership. All before we get into the Unsung Hero (don't ask me how Reese found one) and the Weekly Forecast.
