Ant. 1 The Lord is my stronghold and my savior, alleluia.
Psalm 144
I
Blessed be the Lord, my rock,
He is my love, my fortress;
Lord, what is man that you care for him,
Lower your heavens and come down;
Reach down from heaven and save me;
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
Ant. The Lord is my stronghold and my savior, alleluia.
Ant. 2 Thanks be to God who has given us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ, alleluia.
II
To you, O God, will I sing a new song;
You set him free from the evil sword;
Let our sons then flourish like saplings
Let our barns be filled to overflowing
no ruined wall, no exile,
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
Psalm Prayer
Lord, God of strength, You gave your Son victory over death. Direct Your Church’s fight against evil in the world. Clothe us with the weapons of light and unite us under one banner of love, that we may receive our eternal reward after the battle of earthly life.
Ant. Thanks be to God who has given us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ, alleluia.
Ant. 3 Christ yesterday and today: he is the same for ever, alleluia.
Canticle – Revelation 11:17-18; 12:10b-12a
We praise you, the Lord God Almighty,
The nations have raged in anger,
Now have salvation and power come,
They defeated him by the blood of the Lamb
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
Ant. Christ yesterday and today: he is the same for ever, alleluia.
READING 1 Peter 3:18, 22
The reason why Christ died for sins once for all, the just man for the sake of the unjust, was that he might lead you to God. He was put to death in so far as fleshly existence goes, but he was given life in the realm of the spirit. He went to heaven and is at God’s right hand with angelic rulers and powers subjected to him.
Sacred Silence (indicated by a bell) – a moment to reflect and receive in our hearts the full resonance of the voice of the Holy Spirit and to unite our personal prayer more closely with the word of God and public voice of the Church.
RESPONSORY
The disciples rejoiced, alleluia, alleluia.
When they saw the risen Lord,
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
CANTICLE OF MARY
Ant. I am the shepherd of my sheep. I have come that they may have life and have it more abundantly, alleluia.
Luke 1:46-55
My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,
From this day all generations will call me blessed:
He has mercy on those who fear him
He has shown the strength of his arm,
He has cast down the mighty from their thrones,
He has filled the hungry with good things,
He has come to the help of his servant Israel
Glory to the Father, and to the Son,
Ant. I am the shepherd of my sheep. I have come that they may have life and have it more abundantly, alleluia.
INTERCESSIONS
The Father has established in Christ the foundation of all our hope and the principle of our resurrection. Let us rejoice in Christ, and cry out to him, saying:
Lord Jesus, through your resurrection you entered the sanctuary of heaven to offer the blood of your own sacrifice
Through your resurrection you confirmed the faith of your disciples and sent them out into the world
Through your resurrection you became our peace and reconciliation
Through your resurrection the crippled man was healed at the gate of the temple
You became the firstborn from the dead, the firstfruits of the resurrection
Our Father who art in heaven,
Concluding Prayer
O God,
