Gareth and Esyllt's Scrapbook is available NOW on BBC Sounds! This is a brand new show for BBC Radio Wales. In each edition, we'll tackle two years in recent history with archive, music and guests. There are two episodes available now, featuring Josie Long, Sunil Patel, Claudine Boulstridge of Healthy Family Food Ideas and, still to come in the run, Miles Jupp and my (Gareth's) mum. Episode 1 covers 1999 and 1984, with episode 2 featuring 1997 and 1989. Oh and there's clips appearing on Instagram and TikTok too in which my (Gareth's) face is almost permanently obscured.

Anyway, to today's episode... May 1992. A dog from a soap opera dies in this one and, honestly, that's not the most miserable thing that happens. I feel like trigger warnings abound for just "miserable stuff" but tucked inside things which sound fun - There's the launch of Wire TV, which you can check out on YouTube after you've listened to the show, and there's the International Space Year 1992 - the poster of which probably has to be seen to be believed.
