Often times we discredit a product because we are not using it properly. This is the case many times with us as human beings and how we are utilizing the most powerful product we have namely our minds
This is the first eisode in a series I am doing over John Wooden's Pyramid of Success. John Wooden is considered one of the most successful coaches ever with a winning percentage over 80% in 40 seasons of coaching and 10 total NCAA national titles in basketball (of which 7 were consecutive). Woden created this pyramid to give us his insight into what he believed were some of the principles (which he calls blocks and mortar) that lead to success. This first episode goes over one of the cornerstones of the pyramid: industriousness.
This episode is a brief chat I had with Payson Mc Elveen a couple of days after he won the Mountain Bike Marathon Nationals. I wanted this convesation to be real and unpolished so I have done minimal editting. Payson and I have been partnering together for some time now and the main purpose of this interview was to give you a look under the hood of how a solid mindset can benefit performance. I have done a lenghtier interview with Payson which I will be releasing soon.
I share a story about the San Francisco 49ers trip to their 1st Super Bowl under Bill Walsh and how it changed the way Joe Montana got to road games from that point on in his career.
This is the final episode in the series I did over the article written by Jeff Goins "The 7 Differences between Amateurs and Pros". Difference #7 addresses the principle aim of a Professional versus that of an Amateur. For those that have tuned in to the entire series, thank you so muc for listening. Please feel free to email me at [email protected] to share any thoughts and insights the series has brought you.
This episode discusses difference # 6 between Amateurs and Pros from the article written by Jeff Goins titled "The 7 Differences between Amateurs and Pros". In this episode we work through how having a Growth Mindset allows a Professional to continue to build up their skills and become a versatile individual who is adept at doing many things at a high level. I reference the book Mindset by Carol Dweck in the episode so here is the link where you can purchase it (https://goo.gl/jNvj1u).
