We are examining Chapter 7 in which Dresden discusses theology and political science with a Russian Atheist and Michael pulls the Dad Card.

Dresden and the Knights meet back at Saint Mary of the Angels Cathedral where he gets to know a bit about the newest knight Sanya. Michael asks Harry to not get involved and warns him he is in great danger with the fallen and The Order of the Blackened Denarius.

Here we cover Chapter 6 in which Dresden is shown up by an old man, a drunk, and a carpenter in the ways of getting money from bears.

Harry attempts to run and defend himself from the attacking monster. The two men in the alley join the fight and reveal they both hold swords of power. A third joins the fray, finally killing the beast, who turns out to be Michael Carpenter. Michael introduces Harry to the other two men who are Knights of the Cross and then warns Harry there are more attacks coming.

We discuss Chapter 5 in which Dresden meets a Weird Al impersonator who has a penchant for telling awkward truths to unwilling authorities.

Dresden meets Murphy at the morgue and is introduced to Waldo Butters, the attending Assistant medical examiner. They examine a body that has died under unusual circumstances - coming down with every plague and disease in a matter of hours, additionally being tortured before death and then having identifiable features such as the head and hands removed. Harry makes his way to his car and is attacked by an angry bear-like monster.

Here we discuss Chapter 4 in which Dresden taste tests hybrid vampire spit, experiences jealousy for a cardboard cutout and puts off sleep.

After a warm reintroduction to Susan, she warns Harry about the impending threat of Ortega and the opposing opinions in the Red Court for peace with the White Council. The pair are interrupted by the plain and blasé Martin who takes Susan elsewhere. Before Harry can get some sleep Murphy calls for an unofficial case involving a dead body.

We discuss Chapter 2 & 3 in which Harry is held at gunpoint by a priest, gets paid money to source out old rags, watches an ex throw down..

Father Vincent begins to plead his case to Dresden when a paid hitman takes aim on them. Dresden and Father Vincent escape in the Blue Beetle, but during their exit, Harry see’s more hired men and recognizes one of the assailants to be Hendrix - hired hand of Gentleman Johnny Marcone.

Once to the safety of Father Vincent’s hotel, he enlists Dresden to recover a stolen artifact for the Church - the one and only Shroud of Turin. Dresden accepts the case and heads back to his apartment to be surprised by the end of an altercation, which happens to involve the long lost Susan.

Here we discuss the first chapter of Death Masks in which Dresden indulges his day time tv addiction and prematurely EMP's his magic.

Dresden appears as a guest on the Larry Fowler show along with Mortimer Lindquist. In a surprise move, one of the two mystery guests turns out to be the Vampire Ortega who proceeds to challenge Harry to a duel to end the war. In his anger, Harry accepts the duel but loses control of his magic, taking out all of the studio equipment. The second guest Father Vincent confesses to also attending the show to gain Dresden’s ear.

We are examining Chapter 33 and 34 where Harry takes up horticulture, deconstructs mediocre art installations, ruins knitting and goes gaming.

Elaine joins Harry in the fray and agrees to help him past Aurora’s wall of thorns. Dresden makes it to Aurora just in time to witness Lily turn back from stone and manages to stop Aurora from making her a sacrifice at the Stone Table. Dresden lets loose his secret weapon against Aurora and stops her from upsetting the balance between Summer and Winter.

Dresden recovers in his apartment having been taken care of by his friends. Harry is visited by the new Summer Lady and Summer Knight - Lily and Fix. Elaine comes to say goodbye having been released from her obligations. Harry visits the alpha’s for some much needed rest and relaxation.
