Meg Applegate - Unsilenced
CW: Kidnapping
At the age of 15, Meg Applegate was abducted by two strangers in the middle of the night from her California home. Eight hours later she found herself at a lockdown treatment facility for 6 months in Boise, ID. After that, she was placed in an additional behavioral modification program in northern Montana for the next 3 years.
Today, Meg will be sharing with us about her work with UNSILENCED, a nonprofit organization serving victims of institutional child abuse – especially those harmed by the TTI, or Troubled Teen Industry.
Meg’s book is titled Becoming UNSILENCED: Surviving and Fighting the Troubled Teen Industry.
