During a time when being physically together has become a struggle we turn to Zoom and often religion! The Jewish tradition of observing Passover comes every year for a week to commemorate the liberation of the Jewish people has transformed. Through technology families were able to come together as one, however with this digital addition it no doubt caused a bit of confusion. This piece gives the listener a seat at the table of my families Passover Seder. Through laughter, confusion, and conversation the heart warming interaction proves the power of unity.

In this piece, producer Angela Ixim talks to a member of her family, Tio, about how he is dealing with COVID-19 as an undocumented person who is considered an “essential worker.” Essential workers are out on the front lines of the virus helping society continue to move forward, but what does that mean for someone who does not have access to any help if they get sick? As an undocumented person, "you only survive by working" says Tio. Undocumented workers are often underpaid, work long hours, and are at risk.  Ixim talks with Tio about his fear about getting sick but also his fear for his status in America.

Lorenz Alexander discusses their experience of being disabled during quarantine from their basement. Lorenz suffers from Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, a genetic disease causing weakness in connective tissue throughout the body. This often results in severe muscle stiffness and a lack of physical strength, frequently causing severe pain. Lorenz reflects on the different times they were in the basement with different circumstances, and the sounds of growing up there.
