Memorize What Matters

When it comes to Bible memory, there are some people who enjoy memorizing individual verses, others who like topical memorization, structural memorization or extended Scripture memory. But Jeremy Kluth from Scripture Alive explains a lesser-known type of Bible Memory... "Character memorization" In this interview, Jeremy explains not only how he creates these character scripts, but also why he considers himself a "mailman". As we go throughout this podcast, you'll find that I encourage people to memorize entire chapters and books of the Bible, not just single verses here or there. That's true even for those who don't think they have a good memory. Why? What's the value of "extended Scripture memory"? In this episode, we explore five important reasons to consider. As Christians, we all know the value of memorizing God’s Word. Many of us did it when we were kids, but now as adults, we feel like we don’t have enough time, we don’t have a good enough memory or we just don’t have the discipline to make it work.

On Memorize What Matters, I’ll share exactly how you can memorize more of the Bible than you ever thought possible without letting is slip away next week or next month.

I’m Josh Summers, and I went from memorizing a couple verses here and there to now having memorized over 10 books of the Bible word-for-word. I have a goal of committing the entire New Testament to memory and I’m sharing everything I learn along the way in hopes that I can encourage and inspire you, no matter what your age or how long you’ve been a Christian, to make Scripture memory a priority.

Each episode of Memorize What Matters is like a private coaching session where you’ll learn from me and the guests I interview about different techniques and methods we use. You’ll get actionable lessons that you can use next time you open your Bible so that you can make notable progress on your Bible memory goals.

Whether you’re looking to memorize a couple verses this year or you’re tackling entire books of the Bible, I’m here to cheer you along the way. We remember so many things in life - from song lyrics to movie quotes - it is worth the time and effort that it takes to Memorize What Matters.
