No days off. I’ll rest when I’m dead. You can’t get better by sitting on the couch. These statements, along with so many similar ones, seem to sound true when speaking to our ‘macho’ nature as men. We want to push harder, work longer, and outlast our competition. But these statements typically do more harm than good. Our bodies, and our minds, are designed to need rest. By failing to give our body the proper rest it needs, there’s a good chance you’ll actually see less results and less performance over time. Today, we’ll be talking about the importance of rest days, knowing when you need to rest, and finding the right balance of rest in your routine to still help you reach your goals.
