In this hilarious and unfiltered episode of Mental Perk, Brandi and Karla sit down with the one and only Anthony Monnin—a 43-year-old single mechanical engineer, military veteran, and self-proclaimed non-expert in modern dating.
From dodging red flags to accidentally entertaining “nut job sister-in-laws,” Anthony brings his dry humor and honest perspective on what it’s really like to date in your 40s. Spoiler alert: there are no rules, just negotiations.
If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to re-enter the dating pool later in life—awkward apps, commitment confusion, and all—this episode is for you. Whether you're swiping right or running away, you're going to laugh, cringe, and possibly want to set Anthony up with someone.

Today’s guest is all about helping people live pain-free and doing what they love.
Meet Dr. Daniel DeLorimiere — Texas native, chiropractor, former athlete, and proud veteran of the Texas Army National Guard.
He grew up in Flower Mound, where he and his wife Kendall first fell in love — somewhere between youth group events and church drives. Fun fact: she was a drill team star, and he played football at a rival high school. (Classic Texas love story, right?)
From serving Texans during Hurricane Harvey and COVID relief to cheering on the Cowboys and Mavericks, Dr. Daniel brings passion, purpose, and a heart for helping others. When he’s not in the clinic, you’ll find him on a disc golf course, in the mountains, or hanging with Kendall and their rescue pup, Cricket.

You’re in a bad place." Sometimes, the truth hits hardest when it comes from someone who knows you best.
On today’s episode of Mental Perk, we’re joined by Scott Harwerth—a husband, father, and fighter who’s reclaiming his life one day at a time.
After a back injury in 2014 led to a prescription for painkillers, Scott’s path spiraled from pills… to Kratom… and then into full-blown alcohol addiction. What began as an attempt to manage pain became a quiet storm—hidden in hotel rooms, then buried deeper at home—until the day his wife looked him in the eyes and said, “You’re in a bad place.”
Now nearly 9 months sober, Scott opens up about the dark moments, the lies addiction told him, and the powerful decision to fight his way back to health, honesty, and hope.
This isn’t just a comeback—it’s a reminder that no matter how far you fall, healing is possible.

Brian Maddocks is no stranger to high-stakes performance and purpose-driven leadership. A military veteran turned leadership expert, Brian created the Total Engagement System—a results-driven training method inspired by the precision and pressure of military jet pilot training. Why? Because you don’t learn to fly a jet by reading a manual… you fly the jet.
His powerful framework—PILOT, VAST, and FLITE—equips leaders to transform not just their strategy but their culture, through credibility, clarity, and action. Brian trains leaders from the team’s perspective, because real leadership isn’t about titles—it’s about trust.
Whether he's in the boardroom or on a podcast, Brian brings bold insight, practical tools, and a deep understanding of what it means to lead through adversity, accountability, and engagement.
