Hayden Quinn made a name for himself after appearing on the popular tv show Masterchef Australia, winning the hearts of the public as the laid back Aussie who loves to surf and keep it simple in the kitchen. I caught up for a chat to find out what life was like competing on the show and then more importantly how it changed for him afterward.
We chat about Hayden's simple approach to life and why it's important for him to give everything 'a crack'. He recently turned his hand to producing after a successful first series of his cooking show ‘Taste of Australia’ was rewarded with a second series.
Hayden also tells us about his other business project 'The Cube Gym'. Hear how the gym struggled through Covid-19 but also the unique way in which his team successfully pivoted to ensure their members remained their number one priority and the club stayed open.
Thanks as always for listening,
Rich :)

Pete Deppeler also known as 'Intern Pete' from the no.1 radio station in Australia KIIS FM embarked on a weight loss journey with me over 2 years ago now and he was actually my first ever guest on this show.
I thought it was about time we heard how he has been getting on because to say this guy has changed would be an understatement...
Apart from the peroxide blonde hair, Pete has completely flipped his life around prioritizing his body, looking after his mind, and ensuring he puts himself first in everything he does. He's lost 25 kilos and inspired so many people along the way. Yes, he's a joker but there are also some serious sections that really hit home.
Enjoy this one!

Imagine struggling to get out of bed each morning feeling like 'you're not meant to be here' and this life just isn't for you...
Olly Woolrych was in a dark place and something had to change. Fortunately, he found running which gave him purpose, something to get up for and something to challenge him mentally and physically.
But he needed a goal, something big, something to focus on to stop him slipping back into the jaws of depression. Olly decided to run across Central America, covering 6000km over 6 months and what's even more impressive is he did this alone whilst pulling all of his equipment behind him.
Listen to Olly's incredible story including how he tackled one day at a time, beating depression and coming out of it with a new outlook on life. Olly is one of the most courageous blokes I have ever met and a true lover of life!
If you'd like to watch Olly's video diary hit the link below, it's definitely worth a watch:

Jordan Syatt from Syatt Fitness joins me for my latest episode and explains why Behaviour, habits, and motivation are the key areas to focus on if you are looking to lose weight.
Jordan studied health and behavioral science and is fascinated by the way the mind works and controls decision making choices when it comes to weight loss. He's coached hundreds of people achieve their goals and has even set some pretty impressive goals of his own, like deadlifting 4 x his own body weight and is a 5 x world record powerlifter.
Jordan is probably best known however for coaching Gary Vaynerchuk (if you don't know who Gary V is you've been living under a rock and I'd encourage you to google him) traveling with him for 3 years, following him around the globe and training 7 days a week. He tells me how this level of commitment eventually took its toll on his personal health and wellbeing but how he overcame that.
We chat calories, big mac challenges, new years resolutions, goal setting and so so much more. This was one episode I came away from with a different outlook to coaching. It really is a must-listen!

Kendrick Louis is one of the top Ironman surf life-saving athletes in Australia competing at the highest level for the last 10 years. In this chat, he lets us in on what life is like as a professional athlete and what he must do to stay on top of his game.
We talk about how he motivates himself to deal with the demands of the sport where a normal week of training could see him exceed 130km of swimming, board paddling, ski paddling and running. He explains how he deals with pressure and the highs and lows an athlete goes through day in day out.
Kendrick is the ultimate professional and his work ethic and sheer drive to be the best you can be is really felt in this chat.

With only 4 weeks to go now until I attempt to break a 3-hour marathon, hear what has happened since my last update. Including how I got on in the Blackmores half marathon, what I do in my strength sessions to reduce the risk of injury and also how much mental resilience is going to play a huge part in this challenge now.
Thank you to all of those people who continue to offer their support, as you will hear in this episode the fundraising efforts have been phenomenal.
We go again!
