Roman and Toast man the show this weekend as we finally got the dominant performance we wanted to see on both sides of the ball, especially the offense who came out swinging. This game also set a huge tone for the Playoff committee as Miami passed all the eye tests, coming as close to a shutout as possible. The defense also showed up huge, holding the ACC's leading rusher to -2 total yards, and making CJ Bailey's life in the pocket very difficult with pressure always at his feet.
We even look at the prospect of life beyond Carson Beck, and after this week's performance whether or not you'd want to see a guy like CJ come back to Miami to play. But even with so many good things that the offense did this week, Toast was still frustrated because all the creativity showed up a couple of weeks too late. That spins us into a conversation about teams still vying for a Playoff spot and what this week's wins and losses mean for Miami.
Plus we do a little bit of a deep dive into everyone's Playoff standings headed into the final two weeks of the season, and whether a 3-loss SEC team would jump a 2-loss ACC team if there were already 5 SEC teams in the mix already. There is also some big praise for Girard Pringle after another impressive week of running the ball, which makes us laugh because it looked like he had more freedom to run outside. Which makes us ask if there was a meeting between Dawson, Mirabal and Mario addressing the lack of creativity on offense, because suddenly we're seeing offensive wrinkles we haven't seen all season.
