The Canes got to 7-2 after beating the Cuse at Hard Rock Stadium. Cam and the Beast break down the game from the slow start of the offense to the defense's ability to make big plays.

Mario and the staff emptied the benches, and we got to see some players in action that we haven't seen before or in a while. We even saw Jadais Richard, who made his way back from a torn ACL.

We also discussed some nonsense with the CFP committee after we learned that they didn't even consider Miami's win against Notre Dame, for some bogus reason.

Welp.

The Miami Hurricanes have, for the most part, seen their season go out of the window after a loss at the hands of the Rhett Lashlee-coached SMU Mustangs.

So much went wrong that we needed three segments to cover it all.

We cover the horrible officiating, which was not the reason Miami lost, but certainly didn't make the Canes' afternoon any easier.

We talk play calling. We talked about Jojo Trader's great day, until it became a nightmare of a day.  We dove into the horrendous job by the offensive line to limit their pre-snap penalties. We talked about Shannon Dawson and Alex Mirabal. We got to Carson Beck. And. Of Course, we put the bullseye square on Mario Cristobal.

We covered it all.

Yes, the guys preview the game Miami will play against SMU. They give out their score predictions and talk about all of the former Miami guys associated with SMU. They break down two huge commitments that Miami got this week in the recruiting game. But, let's be honest, this episode is all about the running game and if Miami does indeed run it up the middle too much.

We hear from Miami Offensive Coordinator Shannon Dawson as he "educates" the media on Miami's run game. The Beast has some insight from a former Canes' offensive lineman about the run game and about the abilities of Center James Brockermeyer.

The Canes came out looking sluggish against Stanford, but the second half saw Mark Fletcher score three touchdowns and the defense pitch a shutout against the Cardinal.

Cam and The Beast start the show by looking at the offensive output for the Canes. The running game got back on track, but we did notice something about this offensive line.

Carson Beck did enough, and Malachi Toney did it again.

The second segment brings us to the mystery question that Cam needed to ask Beast and the defense. Again, the Canes gave up points on the opening drive, but adjustments were made, and more importantly, the players executed the scheme and shut down Stanford. With Akheem Mesidor out, we saw some newcomers step up, and two interceptions were had.

We, once again, had to expand the show to three segments as we had to talk about the special teams. Miami got some good gains in the return game, but missed a kick, and somehow forgot to block while watching Mali make some great moves on returns.  Also, Cam permits us to talk about the game time and the line for the game against SMU. Also, we shall once again see some familiar faces as the Canes face the Mustangs.

On this episode of the Real Ones Canes Podcast, Cam and The Beast start the show by talking more about the loss to Louisville. Jeff Brohm had a great plan and Miami's players did not execute.

The guys dive into what Miami QB Carson Beck said after the loss to Louisville. They play the full clip of what Carson said in its entirety, and also play the clip of Carson talking to the media on Wednesday. It's pretty clear that this has been blown out of proportion.

Segment two brings the boys to the topic of Joshisa Trader and his lack of playing time. The rumors are out there.

We end the show by laying down the keys to a Canes' win against Stanford and give our score predictions.

Then, it's the first segment three in show history! We need to talk about coaching mistakes, penalties, and the path forward for Miami. It's a jam-packed show.

Cam and The Beast dive into Miami's upcoming matchup against Louisville. As it turns out, Cam doesn't like Louisville or their fans. He gets unhinged when talking about them. It seems odd. Beast finally comes out and says Miami is a better team and should win. That's a monumental feat.

In segment two, the guys try to figure out why the Miami Hurricanes haven't run back a punt or a kickoff for a TD in years. Miami used to have guys who were a threat to score on a return any time they touched the ball.

Beast is over SEC STANS who are upset that OSU, Miami, and Indiana are ranked so high and don't play any, as of now, Top 25 teams during the remainder of their schedule. Hey, win the rest of your games and then we can talk.

Finally, James Franklin's tenure is over at Penn State. Could a former Miami head coach get that job?

It's a bye week that has come too soon.

The first segment brings us Cam raging about the number of penalties that the Miami Hurricanes have committed so far this season. He's not wrong, but also, past championship teams have committed a bunch of penalties as well.

In segment two, The Beast gets on his soapbox. He thinks there shouldn't be preseason rankings. Cam says there has to be to create drama and narratives for television broadcasts.

Then, The Beast lays out the transactional nature of the relationship between those who cover the 'Canes for the big-time web outlets and the coaching staff. It can get murky.
