This is a kind of poem. About those forests. It was my first sense of the sacred. Simple as that. And then came the life of the altar boy. But what the church was reaching to express, was already in the trees in all their glory.

a special meditation for dark days.  my own personal take on happiness and meaning. Happiness is for the young, and meaning is for the wise. But in between times can be difficult for all of us. This is a long wandering meditation, like a love letter, scattering memories from the road, the long road we're all on, wandering, and uncertain, sometimes without compass or balance, until eventually we find the joy.

I try to talk about how I came home when I opened up the little box of religious tricks.  And how it's ok to be down, because it's your own unique universe. And because everyone has their own unique box of tricks. 

The key is that you are here. I am here. We're all being here in the one amazing moment; on the edge of spring.

I know many people have lost loved ones during the past nine months so I just wanted to do something special in remembrance of them. I didn't know what to do, until I found something I wrote a few years ago and I thought it might be appropriate to share it now.

A woman in Belarus said that to me one day. I love the idea. We are able to change. There is no limit to what we can do. Because beneath all our attachments, we are as full of bliss as a blue sky is full of space.

I begin here with a story about the General. And then I go on to talk about the idea of change. How we are capable of changing. Me; I'm trying to learn a bit of Irish. It's. a new year resolution. What about you? Maybe the new year is a good time to think of what you're capable of. 

The picture was taken in Mongolia with the Panchen Otrul Rinpoche. I told him I was never on a horse before. So he said, get up on this one now. And so I did. But mind you, it was a very small horse. Poor creature, having to put up with me.
