Last week I went to Cavan County Museum where they play to establish a national storytelling centre. It's an amazing place. I was doing a little video filming for their Christmas events. And then I came home and did this podcast from my bedroom, because the studio was cold and there had been no fire on all day. And the podcast didn't upload properly on Friday. So let's just have a chat about Christmas.  if you're stressed and anxious about going out to shop there's nothing better than a mug of tea and a chat. So I sat down with myself and talked to the wall as I was looking out the window, imagining you were there as well. And in the end I was remembering the Glangevlin mummers, and I played an old recording from 1975; I think later I will do a full podcast on the mummers and the music back then in Glan. And by the way, the Turkish series on Netflix is Ethos, and I'd recommend it. And the movie by Jodorosky on Mubi is called  Endless Poetry; it's beautiful. Or if you want something completely mad try his early work; El Topo, a western you can rent but don't blame me. it's fantastic and powerful, but free flowing like poetry rather than a drama.

Two stories of old love. In remembrance of days that were, and therefore are, forever.

Prepare yourself for a very quiet and almost whispered reflection on the dead, the darkness, and the loveliness of candles. Memories of my Cavan Childhood, and the stalls outside the Cathedral during the November mission. This is where my theatre began and it is the source of all my imaginative journeys in different religions. So I wanted to do something intimate for the end of the month. To bid farewell to this time of darkness and remembrance of the dead. And the only wisdom I have is the wisdom of a theatre practitioner. As the director would say - do something.

Someone who listens to the podcast told me about the tailors half hour. They posted it on the sight. It's the time the tailors used to take their tea break; the time of the day when it was too dark to sew but too early to switch the light on. it inspired me to share this little buddhist ramble about how little I know.  And I hope you find in yourself all that you don't know, because what we don't know is a condition of blissful bewilderment. And so the second great lesson in Buddhism is - light a candle. Yes. Actually light a candle. We're getting there. It's November.
