Neville Goddard Bio:

Neville Lancelot Goddard (1905-1972) was a prophet, profoundly influential teacher, and author. He did not associate himself as a metaphysician, with any ‘ism’ or ‘New Thought’ teaching as commonly advertised by these collective groups. Goddard was sent to illustrate the teachings of psychological truth intended in the Biblical teachings, and restore awareness of meaning to what the ancients intended to tell the world.

Neville Goddard was born on 19 February 1905 in St. Michael, Barbados in the British West Indies, to Joseph Nathaniel Goddard, a merchant, and Wilhelmina Nee Hinkinson. Neville was the fourth child in a family of nine boys and one girl.

In 1922 he came to the United States on board the S.S. Vasari to study drama at the age of seventeen. He became a dancer, and during this time he married his first wife, and they had a son together, named Joseph Neville Goddard. While touring with his dance company in England he developed an interest in metaphysics after striking up a conversation with a Scotsman who lent him a series of books on the powers of the mind. Upon his return to New York he gave up the entertainment industry to devote his full attention to the study of spiritual and mystical matters.

After traveling extensively throughout the United States, Neville eventually made his home in Los Angeles where, in the 1950s, he gave a series of talks on television and radio, and for many years lectured regularly to capacity audiences at the Wilshire Ebell Theater. In the 1960s and early 1970s, he confined most of his lectures to Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco.

In his early lectures and books Neville dealt solely with what he called The Law, the technique of creating one’s physical reality through imagining. It is this portion of his expression that most closely accords with the teachings of the New Thought movement. In describing The Law, Neville related how he made a sea voyage from New York to see his family in Barbados during the Depression, without any money of his own.

He related how, by the use of imaginal power, he was honorably discharged from military service to continue his lectures during World War II. He gave his audiences in San Francisco in the 1950s and 1960s accounts of how others had made use of The Law. He discussed it on television in the Los Angeles area, saying, “Learn how to use your imaginal power, lovingly, on behalf of others, for Man is moving into a world where everything is subject to his imaginal power.

Neville Goddard died at the age of 67 on October 1, 1972, in Los Angeles.

Christian Thagard Bio:

Christian Thagard has been a dedicated student of metaphysics since 1986, when he was jarred awake by experiences his logical brain could not begin to explain. That began a deep dive into metaphysics that continues to this day.. What he eventually found is that the strange world of metaphysics actually makes all the sense in the world – if one takes the trouble to look closely enough.

In the meantime, Christian practiced law for more than four decades – in the areas of financial law, contracts, infrastructure, energy, government, corporations, and pensions. Eventually, though, it became time to step away from that and pursue his passion for understanding and explaining metaphysics. He completed a manuscript he had been working on for years, and published Earth Game: The Evolution of Consciousness. It is about who we are, where we are, how we got here, and why we are here. It is a short book, a synthesis of decades of study. It is the book he would have loved to find way back when he first became aware that this physical world is not what it appears to be.

Christian has by no means abandoned the logical approach that served him well in the practice of law. His premise is that if you understand how the game works – i.e., “Earth Game” – then you can navigate it better, and craft a better experience. He feels that many who would wake up to how this reality works don’t do so because they can’t see how it makes any sense. He sees his book as a bridge, and a very practical guide.

On his website (christianthagard.com), Christian has posted articles on a wide range of metaphysical topics – including how reality is manifested, “quantum” (that is, multidimensional) aspects of our reality, simulation theory, and whatever topics capture his imagination.

Christian lives in Alberta, Canada, and is thoroughly enjoying “Earth Game”. His joys include his family, spending time in nature with his dog, and all kinds of games..

Alan Watts Bio:

Alan Watts was a well-known British philosopher, writer and speaker, best known for his interpretation of Eastern philosophy for Western audiences. Born to Christian parents in England, he developed interest an in Buddhism while he was still a student at King’s School, Canterbury. Subsequently, he became a member of a Buddhist Lodge, where he met many scholars and spiritual masters, who helped him to shape his ideas. He was a prolific writer and began writing at the age of fourteen. Many of his early works were published in the journal of the Lodge. At the age of twenty three, he migrated to the USA, where he first received training under Zen master, but left before he was ordained. He then studied Christian scriptures and functioned as a priest in Chicago for six years before leaving for San Francisco to pursue an academic career. Simultaneously, he started giving talks on Eastern philosophy and soon developed a wide audience both at home and abroad. Apart from writing more than 25 books, he has also left an audio library of nearly 400 talks, which are still in great demand.

Jim Shooter Bio:

Jim Shooter is an American writer, editor and publisher for various comic books. He started professionally in the medium at the age of 13 at what is now DC Comics , and he is most notable for his legendary 1978 – 1987 run as Marvel Comics' editor-in-chief, and his work as editor in chief of Valiant Comics.

He was also both the creator and EIC of DEFIANT Comics, and Broadway Comics. During his tenure at Marvel, the company enjoyed some of its best successes. He believed that every title, no matter how unpopular it was, deserved a chance to succeed. He abandoned the long-time Marvel Comics policy that allocated the best writers to the best-selling titles.

This allowed some of the second-string titles, such as The Uncanny X-Men and Daredevil, to reach then-unprecedented heights of popularity. After leaving Marvel, he fronted an effort to purchase the publisher from its corporate ownership, losing out at the last minute to a slightly higher bid. He then founded a new company, Voyager Communications, which published comics under the Valiant Comics banner, Valiant entered the superhero market with a relaunch of the Gold Key Comics character Magnus, Robot Fighter.

Shooter brought many of Marvel's creators to Valiant, including people like Steve Ditko and Barry Windsor-Smith, as well as industry veterans such as Art Nichols, John Dixon, and Don Perlin.

Jim founded Defiant Comics in 1993, Broadway comics in 1995,with many other positions, gigs, and comics written between then and today. Currently Jim is the EIC of illustrated media, a custom comic book company.

Manly P. Hall Bio:

Manly P. Hall (1901-1990) founded the Philosophical Research Society in 1934, a non-profit organization dedicated to the dissemination of useful knowledge in the fields of philosophy, comparative religion and psychology. In his long career, spanning more than 70 years of dynamic public activity, Mr. Hall delivered over 8000 lectures in the United States and abroad, authored over 150 books and essays, and wrote countless magazine articles.

Many of Mr. Hall's lectures have been transcribed and are available as pamphlets; others were taped live, and the audio recordings are available on CD's as well. He is perhaps best known for his 1928 classic, "The Secret Teachings of All Ages," an encyclopedia of the world's wisdom traditions and symbolic disciplines.

Today, younger generations are re-discovering the works and words of Manly Hall, finding that the material he put forth so many years ago is still relevant and useful today. Mr. Hall's hope for humanity was to learn from the greatest minds of all times so that we may solve current problems - both in society and in the individual - today.
