Midnight Viewing

In this Christmas-themed episode of Father Malone's Weekly Roundup, Father Malone and co-host Ripley Jean navigate holiday entertainment, starting with a review of 'Emmett Otter's Jug-Band Christmas,' a 1978 Jim Henson special featuring a mother and son otter duo trying to make ends meet during the Great Depression. The episode continues with a scathing critique of the Tim Allen and Jamie Lee Curtis film, 'Christmas with the Kranks,' labeling it the worst film ever made. Finally, they delve into the horror genre with a recommendation of 'Seasons of Belief,' an episode from the 'Tales from the Dark Side' TV series, perfect for a less saccharine holiday viewing experience.

In this 100th episode special of Midnight Viewing Anthologies Attack, Father Malone welcomes back Antonio Llapur to discuss the 1995 anthology film 'Four Rooms.'
Directed by Alison Anders, Alexander Rockwell, Robert Rodriguez, and Quentin Tarantino, the film consists of four interconnected stories set in a quirky hotel.  Special attention is given to Tim Roth's frenetic performance as the bellboy, the underutilized talents of actresses like Jennifer Beals and Marisa Tomei, and the issues stemming from inconsistent direction and editing. The hosts also reflect on the challenges of making a successful anthology film and the lasting impact of 90s independent cinema.
