La policía en Kenia se enfrentó con manifestantes el lunes durante las protestas antigubernamentales más recientes, matando a 10 personas, según la comisión estatal de derechos humanos.

Las autoridades bloquearon las principales carreteras que conducen a la capital, Nairobi, y la mayoría de los negocios cerró en medio de las medidas más estrictas hasta ahora para contener los disturbios.

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva hit back on Monday at recent threats from U.S. President Donald Trump to impose tariffs on countries that align themselves with BRICS.

The criticism came during a news conference after the conclusion of the 17th BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro, which brought together heads of state and top officials from the bloc's 11 member countries, along with invited partners, for two days of discussions.

On Sunday, Donald Trump stated on social media that he would impose an additional 10% tariff on any country that aligns itself with what he called “Anti-American” BRICS policies.

Lula criticized the American leader for using the internet to intimidate other nations.

"A president of a country the size of the United States to go around threatening the world on the internet, it’s not right,” Lula said. “We don't want an emperor.”

Drone aerials shot on July 6th show damage along the Guadalupe River as well as an RV park with no campers in sight.

The risk of life-threatening flooding is still high in central Texas with more rain on the way.

Searchers along the Guadalupe River have found the bodies of 75 people, including 27 children.

Fourteen other deaths have been reported in other parts of Texas.

Plaintiffs in a lawsuit challenging the Trump administration campaign of arresting and deporting faculty and students who participated in pro-Palestinian demonstrations argued Monday it was an orchestrated effort that has stifled free speech at universities around the country.

The lawsuit, filed by several university associations against President Donald Trump and members of his administration, is one of the first to go to trial. Plaintiffs want U.S. District Judge William Young to rule the policy violates the First Amendment and the Administrative Procedure Act, a law that governs the process by which federal agencies develop and issue regulations.

“Not since the McCarthy era have immigrants been the target of such intense repression for lawful political speech,” Ramya Krishnan, senior staff attorney at the Knight First Amendment Institute, told the court. “The policy creates a cloud of fear over university communities, and it is at war with the First Amendment. The First Amendment forecloses viewpoint discrimination; it forecloses retaliation; and it forecloses government threats meant to coerce silence.”
